Failed driving test

Postby Katie21 on Thu Jun 21, 2007 12:50 pm

I too failed my driving test today (2nd) with 1 serious and 4 minor faults. I was turning right onto a side road, a huge 4X4 was turning right onto the main road from the side road, however he was stuck right out into the road preventing me from seeing into the junction. I gave way to him and then turned into the junction, I failed because I was trying to be considerate but was classed as hesitant. Earlier in the test I thought I had failed because I glanced the curb in my left reverse. Just goes to show that being too careful can sometimes cause problems too!

Bloody Driving Tests!

Postby Blondie Emma1989 on Mon Jul 09, 2007 6:57 pm

 I HATE DRIVING TESTS! I have test number three in Blackburn coming up on Wednesday - thts 2 days away! The 1st time i failed with 2 majors and 13 minors and it was sooooooooo stupid! One major was for repeatedly doing MIRROR, SIGNAL, MANOUVER instead of MIRROR AND SIGNAL then MANOUVER! In the highway code it is the way I was doin it so he was wrong to give me a major there (only got a major cos i did it 6 times apparently! he gave me a minor each time) and the second major was for not overtaking a shite learner driver on a dual carriageway cos they were drifting across the lanes. Was doing 43mph rather than 50 and he said that I was dangerously slow! The second time I failed was completely my fault cos I was a nervous wreck - I have some Bach's Rescue Remedy this time to help calm my nerves - Hope it works - Good luck to ne1 else gettin ready to do their tests. The tests don't test how good a driver you are, it is simply a money-making scam and it is the luck of the draw xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Postby Guest127586043 on Wed Jul 11, 2007 7:12 am

I'm about to take my drivers test and was just wondering what things you have to know inside the wehicle before the test. i know the signal lights and hazard lights, horn I suspect. But what else?

1st driving test tomorrow

Postby stickyvick on Mon Jul 16, 2007 8:07 pm

I am so nervous - this is my 3rd/4th attempt at learning to drive nevermind the test. Managed to get a car stuck in a ditch side when I was 17 on a lesson with my dad - really put me off driving.... I am now 30 - getting frustrated with myself I see all the 17 year old boy (and girl) racers can drive and I can't...

Anyway good luck to everyone who is having a test in the next few weeks

I think it will work out to your advantage if you practise driving by the book and get as much experience behind the wheel as possible with your learner's permit before taking the test. Good luck on your next test.

I failed too :(

Postby guest20072007 on Fri Jul 20, 2007 4:56 pm

I failed my second test today too . I feel really hard done by.

On the test I've done today and my first test in June I've had to drive in torrential rain and severe flooding. But today I also had to deal with huge traffic jams from all the kids being off school! My test lasted 55 minutes because of it! I did my two manoeuvre's perfectly as well, but got a serious for positioning. It was raining so hard today I could barely make the lines out!

But what really annoys me is that the next available driving test for me is mid September, two months away! Its so farcical paying £48.50 and then having to wait that long to just take it again.

I actually feel calmer after writing this. Thanks :)
Good luck to everyone take their tests in the future.

my driving test coming soon

Postby sparkle2006 on Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:48 am

Hi all i'm new to this site, i have been taking lessons since march and finally i have my first test date. I'm so nervous thinking about it and i have a few weeks of practice yet because its such a long queue but although i am confident in my lessons i'm dreading THE TEST. I'm sorry to read about the bad luck some of you have had and hope it goes well for your next test. I admire you all for the way you keep going, not so sure I will be as brave if I fail but reading your messeges makes me determined not to ever give up. After all having a lisence opens so many doors of freedom and independence. I can't wait for the day when I no longer have to rely on public transport. GOOD LUCK TO ALL, helena x x

I think I had the same examiner as you...Brighton, mexican style handlebar moustache, dodgy tie? He failed me too for observations on the corner reverse.

Driving Tests

Postby lindsay007 on Fri Aug 24, 2007 1:12 pm

Hey!

I am new to this site and I am sooooo glad I found it cos I have just failed my driving test today!

Sat it in Hamilton (Scotland) and the examiner was very nice and chatty (wearing dodgy jesus sandals and socks tho!!). Driving down a dual carriage-way and a lorry was infront of me, decided that I should just stay behind it as there was lots of cars and lorrys coming down the inside, then the lorry slams on the brakes! I was breaking, but the examiner slammed on the brakes in the middle of the dual carriage way... I was still at least 1.5 seconds behind the lorry.

Got another test booked tho and only got 3 minors in total, so it wasn't all bad!!
