I passed my first test!!

Postby meeeeeexxx on Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:44 pm

I passed my test today, I started off really weel, did turn in the road excellent, but did the parallel park really sh!t, thought oh no ive failed, thats when I relaxed.
I did straighten up the parallel park though so that was great.

I got 10 faults, so was very lucky to pass, 5 more and I would have failed.

Its such a relief, Im skint and spent loads.

It all depends on the person who is testing you, and what their mood is. When I did my test (and failed), I wasn't nervous, just too pre-occupied with making it perfect, that I forgot to do the basics. I hate driving anyway, but I have to do this! Good luck everybody.

I just failed today for the second time. only 7 minors but 1 major for reversing 3 car lengths instead of 2 car lengths in my reverse parking.
Ive felt really low all day, althoug hearing your stories has made me realise it happens to a lot of people.

Cheers.

I have my retest on Jan 21st, fingers crossed!

On my first test I left my right indicator going the whole journey of the dual carriage way and only noticed once I was asked to take the next exit! I put all down to nerves its amazing the ridiculous things that you do when your nervous. I passed in the end though!!!!!!!!! :D
Keep going though its worth it in the end.

damn i'd hate be driving next to you on the road's,

im going to book my test for the end of this month, i'm not nervous as i've been driving automobiles such as motorbikes since i was 6 years old, my handlings skills aren't what would let me down, it would be a stupid idiotic mistake such as taking the wrong lane, im dispraxic and might end up going left when the examiner ask's me to go right, i would hope i would be allowed some leaniancy but sadly not, see i get my left and right mixed up.

it'll be my first time and i know how hard some driving instructors can be, some can be nice others can be a pain in the arse to put it bluntly, also the fact that i'm only 17years old nearing 18 in 3months time, but i feel that the majority of driving instructors would tend to be more critical of me due to my age.

i hope i pass but then i can always book another test, and i can drive just aswell as the people i know so if he/she fails me there getting a face full of my fist. lol just joking, good luck for the rest of you who also have tests coming up soon.

peace

Hi everybody, i think the rules in the test today are stupid! i mean reverse rnd a corner, with out hitting the kerb, how many do that? they say its dangerous we do it plenty of times when we learn n dont hit any1 or anything same as when u pass so y do we need it perfect on the test??? i say we need more experience on motorways then anything else. i passed mine wiv flying colours on 2/2/05 with only 2 minors, my advice is on the test forget about the examiner just concentrate on ur self i thought i had failed, thought i had cliped the kerb when reversing but carryed on driving safely and when i got bk he passed me, dont every give up hope! wish u all the best :)

Yo peeps! Great to here so many people failing and failing 3 times, makes me feel much better!!!
:D
My story comes with a twist!
My first test was in December, and I didn’t tell ne1! Not even my parents! But I failed; I only told my friends at school which is in another town, so no way my parents or friends in my town will find out. So they know I failed once!
2nd Test in January I failed, but this time told my friends and family in my town and friends in my school!
When I failed my family and friends knew it was my FIRST time, so they didn’t say anything, the school I go out of town knew I had test and asked if I passed, and I had to lie! I said my examiner was ill, so they had to change the test day! So know both my town people and my school town people thinks I have only done once!
3rd Test today, failed, Friends and Family know about the test, Friends at school knows about it. Both towns now know I failed twice!
:x
But only I and my instructor know I failed 3 times!!!!
:(
GOTTA PASS 3rd TIME!!!! (4th)
I get soooo nervous I dunno why?!?!?!
:?

Just passed my driving test this morning!! It was my 4th attempt so I am over the moon. I didn't tell anyone I was taking it not even my husband! He's taking me out tonight to celebrate

All I can say is keep trying, I was so nervous this morning I was sick! I talked to the examiner and tried to make her laugh which seemed to work!

HOW TO PASS

Postby Matt passed today! on Mon Feb 14, 2005 11:31 pm

hi everyone! I passed my test today having failed my first, and I found out some things along the way, HERES HOW YOU CAN ALMOST GUARENTEE A PASS:

1. TAKE YOUR TEST AT THE START OF THE MONTH IN THE MORNING. reason being, although it will be denied, the DSA has a quota to fill, certain number pass, certain number fail. by the end of the month, the quota has probably been reached for passes. in the morning, your examiner will have had less horrors throughout the day and will be in a better mood.

2. BE AS HAPPY AS POSSIBLE. don't over do it to the point where you are being silly, but if you are happy and pleasent to them, they will be happy and pleasent to you. with all said and done, THEY ARE HUMAN TOO.

3.GIVE THEM THE SMOOTHEST RIDE POSSIBLE. be gentle on everything. the key is to show them you can carry a passenger and not scare the S*** out of them. so be nice and slow at every single junction.

4. EXAGERATE EVERYTHING. when you check your mirrors, DO NOT GLANCE. PHYSICALLY MOVE YOUR HEAD AND IN NECESSARY, YOUR NECK. you may know its clear, but does your examiner know you know this...

5. IF THEY CHAT TO YOU, IT'S A GOOD SIGN. this means they are relaxed and happy with your driving. so keep your cool, and talk back but dont loose your focus. and when they look at you while they are talking, CHECK A MIRROR! SHOW THEM YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

i know it sounds over blown, but i made sure i covered all these things and i passed when i was sure i was going to fail.

good luck!

ITS ANNOYING COZ I CAN DRIVE FINE, AND ITS SOOOO EXPENSIVE.
I HOPE I PASS NEXT WEEK OR IM GOING TO BOO MY EYES OUT

UK Driving Test

Postby Ryan on Sat Feb 19, 2005 2:06 pm

I have full sympathy for people failing their driving test. It took me five attempts in Northern Ireland. Failed twice when I was 18, once when I was 20 and once when I was 26. I left it six and half years between the third and forth attempt. Ironically I did my fifth test a month after my forth fail and was only in car for two hours between both of these tests. I passed on the fifth attempt with one minor. That was last August. The instructor slept in and I nearly missed the test appointment.

One thing I recall my instructor telling me was that he had a student who failed early one morning and redid it that afternoon after and passed. It's the most nerve wrecking experience I have ever went through.
