Guitarists are sensitive people (I know, as I am one). We hate muddy sound.
I do consider others in context. We have a house that enables us to have a band practice without the people next door knowing, unless errant visiting musicians park across their driveway. We don't practice much after 10pm in any case.
I like to enjoy music without infringeing others' right to peace and like peace from having others' music forced on me.

Strumming quietly is nice, it's when they play it really hard and you just wanna stick it up their arse.

As I implied before you can play hard as long as you have an amp which allows you to keep the master volume down. The Vox AD30 is a good practice amp - it's got a maximum output of 30 watts but has a genuine power controller on the rear panel which can reduce the output to about a watt if you want. This is even more effective than a master volume and the one I bought which doubles as a practice amp and an onstage guitar monitor cost the princely sum of £140.

Bugger strumming quietly though.

If it's an acoustic is impossible to keep volume down unless strumming quietly.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm........................ guitar thread.

Guitar thread that's been going on for a while now................... something a bit fishy here, in fact not just a bit fishy but positively humming. :)

P.S.
If this post seems bonkers and doesn't mean anything to you just ignore it. It might mean something to somebody though (not you Col.)

DanMc,
Your practice amp sounds like a good idea. Sorry if I don't always have time to reply to everything.
P.S. Fishing line wouldn't impact upon the magnetic field of a guitar pickup, so it wouldn't be any use for an electric guitar string.
Best Regards from Colin - Have fun.

Headphones and make him a hot coffee, bless him, he sounds really into his music if he won't put his guitar down.
