We already have seen each other's avatars. Now you just have to keep your weight under 300 pounds. Given your diet in Korea, I'm sure your are well below.

Now that I know you aren't gonna shag LA hippy-boy this weekend, the pressure is off. Big Ben has more time to win your heart.

That's what Big Ben was afraid of. Blokes don't travel across the country without some expectations ...

To BigBen,

First, I'm not going home today. The work of an asshole that loves to piss me off. It also means I don't get to sit next to pretty boy cause he left today. Very vindictive people in this world.
Anyway... Ben, I wanted to see what they are saying about the Americans on the television news. The only station I get in English is CNN International and that doesn't tell me what is 'really being said' among the natives. Darn.
Okay, that's all. I'm on my 4th White Russian and I think I'll do some souvenir shopping or go back to bed. Life is a bitch and then we marry one.

I thought you'd be boozing away on a plane by now. How can someone be so mean to play a "practical joke" on you and get you up at 6AM??

Don't be like the guys you are with! After all, you won a poll for being the most intelligent person on ff! This is an opportunity to explore and visit another culture. Korea is a prosperous country, so you won't be roughing it. There must be something to do. You could go to that amusement park or check out how good their subway system is or go up the Hill to the Grand Hyatt and Schila hotels. Maybe you can still catch an afternoon trip out to the massive underground tunnels at the DMZ and see the fake city complete with highrises that the North Koreans built to sell the South Koreans how good like is under dictatorial Communism. Don't cross the DMZ though as it is full of landmines. Or go shopping. :P As you can see, Big Ben likes international travel, especially on somebody else's dime.

CNN international won't give you any insights. I don't think you'll find anti-American sentiment in a country that the US saved in their civil war. I thought it to be more interesting that the S. Koreans are in denial about the threat from the north. They will poo-poo it and I have never found a single person who takes the threat seriously, as they don't think their fellow Koreans would ever harm them. There are some people who speak English if you seek them out. And if they don't, you can always say, Com-sa-me-da (thank you).

And Korean beef shortribs for dinner are ok. They will use a what seems like a different type of barbecue sauce and flavors than you'll find in western countries. Stay away from the kim-chee (cold spicy cabbage) though - I don't see why the Koreans like it.

And cheer up! :blob:

Com-sa-me-da Ben. Okay.... I'll check out going to the tunnels. I hope it's not far.

And beef ribs for me too. I am upset, very upset. About the "most intelligent" thread, I haven't looked at the results. I was afraid no one would vote for me and I wasn't gonna vote for myself. That would be a dead give-away.

And... about getting back at my bus partner..... an intelligent person could come up with a smart and creative way to burn his backside. So far, I'm only dreaming about it.

Thanks for the reply. :happylove:

You Could check out a Hapkido match, if you can locate one. Other than that I don't know what is worth seeing in Korea. Never gave it much thought. I knew a sergeant that had learned to sleep with one eye open after spending a year on the DMZ--used to really freak his wife out when she'd wake up and see him sleeping like that.

Hey Azraelle, It's getting bedtime now, 1:45AM. It will all be over with soon. I should be home tomorrow at 12:30 noon. I would have rather have gone on a Mediterranean tour but maybe in the future. We get a day back going home. Bye Sweet AZ XX
