Hi there Pocahontas

I hope you're having a lovely evening.

I've got a pile of political fliers to read in preparation for out state election in four days time. They sure like to leave it until the last minute to tell us what their plans are.
I wish there were an easier way to vote too. We have to stand in line for ages which can be pretty bad if it's the middle of summer or if it's pelting with rain. Strangely we get issued with electoral enrollment cards, but they never ask for them at the polling stations. I don't think they even ask for identification most of the time, so anyone could go in saying they're someone else.

I guess it's goodnight for you now.
Sleep well.

Very interesting. It's not unusual for us to stand in a line either. Our local city, state elections are low key but you have already seen how our presidential elections go.

BTW, I wish you knew how many times and people have called me Pocahontas. I don't mind though.

Yes, I need to go to bed soon. Thing is, I am wide awake with the sun goes down. I'm completely nocturnal. Tomorrow I have to be up very early and have to work. I'll stay on the forum for a little longer.

You have a good day too.

I like learning about the US from someone who knows what they're talking about. :)

Our federal elections are a grain of sand on a beach compared to yours. There's maybe two months lead-up of debates and stuff with the occasional one hour political speech on the TV and a couple of in-studio sessions with the candidates, but that's about all. Plus the parties decide amongst themselves who they're going to put up for the job as Prime Minister. We don't get to choose between candidates for the same party, only between parties. Polling day's the same for state or federal elections here. It all involves a lot of standing around for two minutes with a pencil and a couple of sheets of paper while leaning on the top of top of a temporary cardboard polling booth. It's class all the way with no expense spared.

I'm the same when the sun goes down. I start feeling tired at sunset, but once the sun's completely gone, I seem to get this huge surge of energy that lasts for a few hours.
I wonder if that has anything to do with the years of bodybuilding I did. I used to finish work, go home and get changed, then head to the gym for my 7pm hard-core training session where I'd pick up heavy objects...and put them back down again.

Gotta go to the shops to get a larger SD card for my PDA, in a minute.
G'night
