Nothing much new to update with me... still trying to get used to all the stuff involved with gestational diabetes (I live in the doctor's waiting room  ). We've officially decided on a name for our Cherko (Niklas James) but he'll probably always have to live with the nickname "Cherko"! He seems to be growing like a weed and his kicks are so strong... my tummy looks like someone is popping pop corn in there! I've finally accepted the fact that it really looks like I will be having a baby at the end of this pregnancy and have started "building a room" for him (hmmmm my husband is building, I'm directing  ). My daughter has a very big bedroom and she has generously agreed to have it devided into two smaller rooms (lol after being given the choice of either a smaller room or sharing her big room with Niklas  ). I just feel quite excited about everything!!

ODN- good luck with your next Gyn appointment... let us know how it goes!

How are our newly pregnant Mommy's doing?? Hopefully not too much morning sickness on top of caring for a baby!

Ziggy- Are you keeping your nose in your books?

Take care everyone... it's time to update again!! :D

Hi girls!!! How are we all?

Just a quick update before work...took hubby's sample off again yesterday, and it has come back slightly improved...so that is good news. Gynae appt tomorrow, so hopefully will know what is going to happen drug wise then!

How are all you lucky pregnant ladies? And Ziggy...any news?

Will update again tomorrow after appt...feeling quite nervous, like this is serious now, iykwim! Before it has always been "we'll see what happens!" :benny: Had one final blow out last weekend, even went "clubbing" which was a bit of a shock to the system! Loys of evenings out wining and dining, now sensible food and no alcohol!!! :? It's all for a good cause! xxx

ODN- how did your appointment go today?? I'm really hoping that they'll be able to give you exactly the right drugs to get things on the "pregnancy" track for you!! Let us know! :D

Where are all the others???? We want updates!!!

On Monday I'll be 27 weeks and starting the third trimester!! Things are still pretty much the same with me so far. The biggest pain is dealing with the gestational diabetes, but it is worth it!

Hope everyone is doing well! :D

ODN- everything's crossed for you! (as much as I can cross right now! There are certain body parts that I can't even see anymore  ) Please be sure to post and keep us updated with your progress... I'm so excited for you!!

The GD is a never ending "control" process. As the pregnancy progresses, my blood sugar levels get worse and then the insulin dosage has to be raised again (it's been raised 3x already and I think it'll have to be raised soon again). The doctor had warned me that this would happen so it's not unexpected. Right now I can still controll the day-time blood sugar levels with eating properly so I only have to give myself insulin shots in the evening, but I've been warned that a point will come when my body won't produce enough insulin during the day either so they're preparing me for when that time comes (diabetes "school"... I have to learn to weigh everything I eat and calculate the carbohydrate units so that later I'll be able to give myself the right dosage of insulin based on how many units I've eaten and what my blood sugar levels are before and after eating). Like I said, it's alot of hassle, but worth it!!

Helloooooo!

Sorry I've not called in for sooo long - would like to say I've been studying but that would be a blatant lie since I've done a bit but also quite a few evenings out and weekends away - it's been fab!

ODN - how exciting! I so hope the clomid will work. Cheryle, wow - being pregnant with GD sounds like a full-time job! Given that it's gestational, does that mean it will subside once Cherko (Niklas! That's lovely!) is born?

Can't stop, was just having a wee break and I better get back to it. I hope everyone else is still doing well!

Hi Ziggy  It sounds like you're having a great time! (I'm a bit envious :? ) I do feel like this gestational diabetes is a full time job! I'm at the doctors right now more than I am home!!! Normally gestational diabetes goes away after the pregnancy (fingers crossed).. my doctor isn't quite sure if mine is a gestational diabetes or if I actually had it before the pregnancy started and it was just discovered during the pregnancy (they're just calling gestational diabetes right now). I'm hoping that it'll disapear afterwards and after my last blood test, I've been given hope that it does look like it is only gestational diabetes
Good luck with your studies and keep having fun!! :D

hello ladies :D

awww meohmy, i'm so sorry to hear your news. you poor love. big hugs to you and the family right now.

amberdite, wow! two babies so close! and i was scared when i got preggers this time as my little two will be only 22 months apart! bit different to the two girls i have now as they have 5 years between them!

hi cheryle, bad news about the GD, they thought i might have it at one stage, but it turned out to be nothing. i read into tho, and it doesn't sound like fun.

hi ODN, good news for you and hubby now, you have a course of action to take, won't be long now!

hi ziggy! there sure is alot of fun to be had when you don't have to worry about having a baby on board, i'm looking forward to that now!

haven't been about in ages, always seems like so much to do. i'm 35 weeks preggie now, so i'm on the home stretch. i'm feeling pretty big, but i'm actually not too bad, and i'm feeling very well. i get a little tired, especially trying to keep up with my two girls, but i'm pretty chuffed with myself so far as i'm still managing! lol. after alot of fuffing and faffing with my surgery, i'm defo on for my homebirth, even if i go over my dates, i have the birthpool booked, and i'm starting to look forward to it! (feel a little insane looking forward to labour!) it's kinda weird tho, as this is my third baby, but i don't know what it's like to get those twinges and think "is this it?" as i've been induced both times before. so that's a little scary, i'm sure it will be fine tho.

hope everyone is well! :D

Hello again everyone!

Juicy Lucy- I wish you all the best for this last phase of pregnancy and for the birth!! Please keep us updated!! :D

Well, I just got back from another in depth ultrasound to make sure Niklas isn't being affected by my GD... everything's looking good with him! :D She gave me some more freebie 3D pics, but he refused to move his hand away from his face we can't really see what he looks like. In 4 weeks I have another appt by her and she said she'd try again!

Hi girls!!! Just a little weekly update...have been working ever so hard! Feel like I have no time to relax...which is good in a way 'cos it takes my mind off everything! Took the Provera tablets to bring on the MOTHER of all periods   :? , and finished course of Clomid last week, am now on CD 10 and just spending lots of "time" with DH, and back to the waiting game. Got to have day 21 bloods, and then wait again! Lots of waiting involved! Am so patient now!

MOM...I amso sorry to hear of your loss! What an awful thing to have to go through...how are you? :bighug:

Cheryle...haw are you feeling? D-day is getting ever nearer...are you excited, or fed up? It has been a long pregnancy, has it not, you found out so early? Not long to go now, chicken!!!

Ziggy and Ambers...how are you? Where are you? We miss you!

Hi to all the other girls...good to hear from you Juicy...not long for you at all now either...keep us informed of any developments.

Big kisses to you all xxxxx :grouphug:

hellooooooooooooooooooooo!

nothing much to report, 13 days till my due date. i was looking on my calender and was very chuffed to see it's a full moon the day before D day. i have heard a few times babies are more likely to be born around a full moon, so i'm hoping it will mean little one will come around on time, and not really late like my youngest. she was 14 days late when i was finally induced, and as i've refused induction this time i was worried the baby may never come out!!

also my birthing pool arrived thursday, and hubby put it up and filled it last night, so we both got in it. it was absolutely heavenly, and i can now imagine that it will be very nice in labour (i couldn't really see how it would help before, but i'd heard so much good stuff about birth pools, i thought i'd go along with the superier knowledge of mums who'd been there and done it and give it a try). have also been bouncing about on a birth ball the last couple of days as my midwife said baby has turned slightly back to back. my youngest was also back to back, and i don't fancy that again as it was a tricky (tho short) birth, so hopefully baby bump will turn around again.

glad to hear your keeping well meohmy..... loads of hugs to you ands yours. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
