Hi girls,lots of my heels slip too,the soles are sooo smooth,its strangely arousing dont you think?.Someone suggested polishing the soles,that sounds interesting,might try that!!!.

Hi Slipygal, it was me that mentioned polishing the soles earlier on in this thread! It's something I do to all of my smooth-soled heels to make then even slippier than they already are! You're soooo right about it being arousing too!! What's your slippiest pair of heels?

with the rain of today, I got stuck slipping again!

You would think this would only really be a problem in fall time but it can be a problem any time of the year especially here.

Here in the UK we don’t usually get much snow at all in winter but all times of the year we get usually lots of rain. I’ll say the worst problems I have is some of the paths going through parks and green areas where I live. You see when it rains water flows down these paths and in heavy rain covers them with a thin layer of dirt if you know what I mean. Well this can get very skiddy and slippery especially on sloped areas and this usually makes me slip a lot so I know this can be an issue.

I do love my shoes but lots if not nearly all of them have smooth soles, but most high heels are made like that. It can be a bit of a giggle if I’m slipping yes but also embarrassing in busy areas. Don’t know if anyone else find this is the case.

Do you ecet get your shoes wet or mucky on the way to work, and if so how do you manage when you arrive in work?

Well on my journey to work most of it is a drive so I don’t get this issue too many times really on the way to work. Whenever walking through the green or the park where I live yes I get this a lot.

But there is a little bit of a walk where sometimes my shoes get maybe a little bit mucky round the soles, or all round the heel if I’m in stilettos. I think its been mentioned on this topic before but what I do is give them a wipe, you can get wet wipes you can carry round in you’re bag now very easily and they’ve always done the job for me, a wipe down for work and then if I need to when I get home I give them a proper clean.

Yes I know exactly what you mean. I walk to work and my route has paths like you are talking about. If they have that wet/muddy film on the tarmac it can be very slippery, it can be like a skating rink almost. My high heels can slip very easily on that stuff and on part of my walk to work there is a sloping gravel path which is very treacherous in the rain. Keeping my footing in heels in the rain on that surface is quite difficult coz my high heels have smooth soles like yours. And the gravel surface ruins the heel tips in no time!

How high a heel do you normally wear. I ususally wear up to 4" heels.

I know what you both mean.

I have to walk along a muddy path on my way to work, and slip a lot when it is wet.

Also, my shoes often get very muddy, does this happen to either of you and if so how do you manage. With me sometimes it is too much to clean easily when I am all dressed up in work.

Today I saw a girl really in trouble, she had really an hard time in opening a heavy door. Her ballet flats were slipping really without any grip on the floor.
I cannot imagine how it is possible to walk everyday with so slippery shoes!

It's just a case of pratice really - you have to balance and if you have heels dig them in.
