Oh dear, that was the same as me a couple of times last week! I had similar fun trying to walk in the snow in my hopelessly slippy stiletto courts! Did you have to walk down any icy slopes in your shoes at all?

Mmm, my work shoes are like that too, in fact I don't think mine had grip in the first place so I was slipping and sliding on the icy bits. What make were your shoes? Did they have good grip when they were newer?

The brand is "Annie". They didnt had much more grip when they were newer, but it's the first time on the snow - and maybe the last.

Are you all going well those fays? Every time I must go outside my usual path home-work-home, I find myself always in trouble, slipping here and there...

Hi,

Why is it so slippery where you are, - ice or mud? How do you cope?

Hi Kat, well here it's been pretty wet the last few days and last week we even had some frost and ice, all pretty slippery in my stilettos. Like a lot of other girls who have posted on this thread my shoes are also quite slippery and are very slippery in the wet or frost! Yeah I do slide around loads but the trick is to just accept it and not fight it as if you try to struggle and not slip, chances are you'll slip over so i find that if i start slipping i'll just take it slower and enjoy it!

Have you slipped much in your heels?

Hi, - sorry I don't think i know your name!!

To answer your question, yes I have had quite a few incidents slipping and slidding on my way to and from the office where I work.

This is embarassing, but my work shoes are fairly worn, and have very smooth soles (which have also worn this) and the heels have become exposed metal through so much ware. As you might imaging this makes them very slippery when it is icy or when it has been raining and my path is muddy!!

Really I should buy a new pair of shoes, but I have recently spent a lot of money "doing up) my apartment and extending the lease on it so money is tight.

Also I figure it does'nt really matter if i wear worn shoes to work!!

Let me know if you would like more info? Also what probs have you had?

Kat.

Hi Kat

Thank you for your reply, it was me who responded to you, I just forgot to log in!!

Your work shoes sound cool, what style are they?

I have quite a few pairs of heels that are similar in that they have worn and very very smooth soles which make them extremely slippery on anything wet, icy or smooth, just like yours! All of my shoes have metal tips on, I put them after I get them simply coz it saves money later on having to replace worn plastic ones as they last forever and also they sound much nicer too! :) They are however, very slippery on hard smooth surfaces like tile, concrete and wood so I have to watch my step but it makes for a lot of fun!

I personally think that it's much easier to walk in high heels if they have slippery soles as you don't 'trip=up' on them like you do in shoes with very grippy rubber soles and they just look so much prettier without big grips all over them!

All of my shoes have slippery soles so as you can imagine, I have had a lof of experiences when I have slipped, slid and skated all over the place in them! My email is littlemisssexishoes@yahoo.co.uk, I'd love to hear from you and exchange experiences!

Hope to hear from you!

Hi Joanna,

Thanks for your reply.

I am afraid that just at the moment I am wearing the same shoes to work all the time.

They are about 2-3 inch black leather heels with a T-bar across the front. As i mentioned they are really badly worn, but i am trying to put off having to buy a new pair, because of finances being rather tight.

I have'nt put metal heels on as you dsescribe - they have just worn down.

At present it seems that almost every day my walk is either icy and slippery or else wet and muddy, - can't wait for summer and better weather!!

Do you ever get yout shoes very muddy?

Hope to hear from you again soon, - would you rather I e-mail you in future.

Hi Kat

Your shoes sound very pretty, t-bar is a really nice style!

Yeah I get my stilettos muddy quite often and it is always a pain to clean them afterwards! Mud can be frustrating in heels but also in some ways, a lot of fun too!

I'd love you to email me back so we can exchange some of our experiences!

Hope to hear from you soon

Hi kat

Sorry to hear about your experience with your journey to work. and I do sympathise with you, weather has been really bad recently all over. I remember it started when we got the really bad snow for a few days and has been really cold ever since.

I drive to work so I don’t have the same level of trouble but the path between the staff car park and the building is never gritted or anything. When the bad snow was down it was really icy, remember the first day of snow we had got caught out in stiletto heeled boots LOL. Though was more careful after the first day so I learned from my mistake.

Now though it’s the frost we seem to get every morning that can make all the paths icy slippery going into work, guess that’s been affecting you a bit I can imagine, especially if you’re shoes are a bit worn as well.

Hi Joanna and Lucy,

Joanna, - thanks for you nice remarks about my shoes. They are really nice, but as mentioned rather worn.

One day it was icy and i was running late and had'nt bothered doing up the buckles, - bad mistake!! I slipped and my foot came completely out of the shoe!!

I agree about muddy shoes I find it a pain cleaning them, to be honest sometimes when i arrive home I don't bother and just kick them off at the front door.

The worst thing is when I get them very muddy walking to work and arrive in the office with muddy shoes. Does this ever happen to you and if so how do you cope?

I had a disasster last night!!

I was walking home from work and noticed that my left foot felt really cold. At first I ignored it, but eventually I stopped in a lit up area and looked at my shoes. To my horror I found that that my left shoe had a hole in the sole.

At the momment I simply don't have another pair of shoes, suitable for the office.

This morning, before leaving for work i cut a piece of cardboard from a cereal packer, and place it in the shoe to plug the whole. Luckily it was'nt wet and I managed OK.

I really don't know how I am going to cope, and it is forecast to really really cold.

If the weather is really bad i think I might take my slippers to the office to change into, - at leat they are snug and warm. I have earmarked all the money from my salary this month, and can't really afford to but new shoes, and they are i think beyond repair.

I think it is funny that you can't afford shoes. It would be even funnier if someone raped you .

Hey girls,

Sorry my login isn't working so I'm posting as a guest. Has anyone else been shocked at the ungritted paths and how treacherous everywhere is today. I've got my boots on today rather than shoes coz even tho I have important meetings and stuff I didn't want my feet to freeze. The paths everywhere are sooo bad tho. Has anyone else worn heels today and found themselves skidding and sliding like me?? What's it like where you are?
