Home electrolysis kits?

I'd a quick search in the forums and couldn't see if this had been asked before, so sorry if I'm repeating things

Has anyone tried home electrolysis kits? I can't afford professional treatments but the idea of permanently removing hair seems great, but how effective is it really? Is permanment really permanant or does it need several trials before becoming permanent if it actually does? (Hope you know what I mean )

i'd love to try it too, but i've heard horror stories about people being left with permanent scars after using home kits, so always been too scared to try
