To be honest, after reading a lot of the discussions from the past, it seems like too many young people are having sex without knowing what's really going on!!! Of course unprotected sex levaes you open for pregnancy amoung other things (some of which can make you INFERTILE!) even if he doesn't come inside you!!!
I came on this website looking for some help as I am on the pill but 2 days late on my period, the first thing I am going to do is go and take a test! As soon as you become pregnant, your child relies on you for nutrition etc (so no booze or ciggies

) but you need to know.
I can't tell whether the sex ed is poor or some people are too young and therefore don't know whats going on and what to expect etc.
There are so many stupid urban myths about pregnancy and sex, I'm not surprised people are terrified, but please, girls, don't listen to the silly girls who tell you the withdrawl method works (IT DOES NOT) or to do it in water or to eat a pineapple when you're peiod is due....Its all myth!
We need to let young people know the facts, so that you all know your bodies and know what to expect. Not only that, but you know what pregnancy demands of you, if and when you decide to have kids.
More importantly, you need to be safe, physically and emotionally. I think that feelings get lost in all of this pregnancy panic.
I am only 23 years old, but lucky enough to have studied biolody and now doing a medical degree, so I know all the intricacies of periods, sex, sperm, pregnancy etc, but I still came here looking for help! WHY?!? Because of panic. Like a lot of you ladies, I thought 'Oh sh*t what now!!!'. Haing all the info helps, but nothing can replace the feeling you get when you know for sure.
However, if, in the first place, people knew the ins and outs (excuse the pun

) then there would be a hell of a lot less of this crazy panic (of which I am also guilty, lol). If I am pregnant, it is due to failure of the pill which cannot be helped, but making silly mistakes because people have been wrongly informed, can be!
Lets wipe out these myths and help these young people, it's not nice when you don't know whats going on.
Good luck ladies and please remember, withdrawl doesn't work, listen to the directions on the pill packet and look after yourself!
P.S - Antibiotics and other meds affect the effectiveness of the pill
ALSO even if you have a medical condition such as endometriosis or cysts, you can still get pregnant. Just look at the celebs who have done it!
