:D i decided 2 join now....
Once upon a midnight dreary,while I pondered,weak and weary,
Over many a quaint&curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded,nearly napping,suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

Sh*t um scared :?

Use TeaTree Oil and the salt rinses. Zinc pills also help with the healing time. Take them as a vitamin.

hm, i used to have a belly button piercing and it never properly healed. i think it's not the most ideal position for a piercing. you always have to watch it and be careful. And I haven't even talked about any sort of physical activity includin you no what! it's just not good. if it doesn't get better soon take it out.

Wow! I feel soooooooooo much better. Had my belly button done about 6 months ago, was meticulous about cleaning it, no problems, soreness, redness etc and then . . .about 3-4 weeks ago realized it was red, sore, bleeding . . .and with a red lump near the top piercing. I've tried loadsa sites to find out about it and this was the ONLY one that explained it. Where I was getting fed up and was gonna take it out, I am gonna continue cleaning it and hopefully it will sort itself out. Thanx to everyone who posted their story!!! You've put my mind at rest :D

I just got mine done yesterday and I'm worried that something like that will happen but they told me to use H2Ocean 4-6 times a day every 3-4 hours. Ask your piercer if they have any of that.

helloo,
iv had my belly button pierced for about 2 weeks now, and i think its infected, like the whole of the inside of my belly button is red and it looks like the skin is peeling off, its really sore and i dont know why its like this, i clean it with the stuff the person gave me every morning and night and i never really touch it unless iv washed my hands.
when i was younger i had my ears pierced and they got infected aswell, and i looked after them aswell, im not sure if im doing something wrong or is it just my body having a reaction to the metal ?

i was thinking about taking it out and putting a plastic bar init lol,
and ideas ?

well, i can't say i didn't persevere . . . but today, after 14 months of trying/ cleaning etc, i finally had to give in and take my piercing out - am mortified!! I kept returning to my piercer (who's fab!) as once my piercing got infected (at about 6 months) i was determined to ensure i did everything correctly. Even today, when she finally gave in and took it out, she had no idea why it rejected and wouldn't calm down, but, unfortunately, there are some people who just react this way :( however, i am pleased to say, that once everything is healed completely/properly, we are going to have another go . . .fingers crossed! :D
