Insurance, transportation of new car

This might sound like a silly question

i've just passed my driving test and i'm looking for a car...when I buy the car i clearly wont have insurance because i'm not going to buy insurance for a car i don't own yet, so how do i legally transport the car to my house without insurance, so i can then purchase insurance....or can i not pick up the car until i have insurance?

You'll need insurance before you collect the car. Once you've bought the car the insurance can be set up almost instantly over the phone if it's during office hours.
