Long Distance Relationships

Postby Tracey on Tue Mar 16, 2004 12:46 am

I'm in a relationship at the moment but the thing is that its long distance.. I live in Midlands and he lives in London. We get to see each other most week ends but with his job commitments, sometimes every other week end.

I tell him in the week how much i miss him and love him, he does tell me all the time that he loves me but when i say, i miss you, he just replies "I know its a nightmare"... Am i just being paranoid about how he really feels about me or Is this normal for a bloke to act like this??
Please give me advice someone

weell, i am in a long distance relationship..

and it is normal!!!!!
men are different and they deal with it in another way...

don't worry to much!!!
it's not true, that ld relationshuips never work out!!!!they don't if u don't trust each other...
because it's essential...

and it can be painful for your boyfriend if u come for a "control visit"
how long have u been together?
u guiys talk on the phone, right? well, if he was in a relationship how could he do that?

don'zt listen to these stories...that it never works!!!'cause it does!!!!
love can grow so much on distance....

There is no such thing as a 'normal' relationship. I spend half my life away from my wife and son, often working on the other side of the world. It's what you make of it, but it not for everyone. I think if I worked 9-5 we'd kill each other!

I have been with my boyfriend for nearly 5 months and i'm also from the midlands and for the last month he's been living/working away in wales at a kids activity camp and he is due to go to france at the end of april with the same company, after the 1st 2 weeks i realised i missed him so much i couldnt bear to be away from him, so i applied to work at the same place, i have been offered a possition where he will be working and i start in may and i cant wait.
Since we got together there's not been a day that we havent spoken, he will be going to france 2 weeks before me and so its going to be hard as i wont be able to speak to him.
Over the last week i've been getting mixed signals from him, he only ever tells me how he feels when he's drunk and by the following morning he's fogotton the conversation and now when i say i love you on the phone he says "yeah u 2" I'm always texting him and he never replies and im the one that always phones cos he never has any credit.
So i've descided to cool it down a little bit, like not text him 3 times a day and wait and see what happens, i think its effecting him just as much as it is me but he just shows it in a different way and its only 5 weeks today until we'll be togehter for the whole summer.

Tracey don't worry about what he says on the phone, its a mans way of dealing with things and im sure he feels exactly the same! Men just arent good at talking about how they feel, trust me i've found that one out myself over this last week.
