i am sick of going through looking at laptops and sorting out the best. ive narrowed my search down to 2 laptops, both fairly similar but can someone please tell me which 1 to get because i cant decide? im getting mixed reviews for everyone.
i want it for music, films, and photos, its got to have a large hard drive & at least 1024 ram.
choices:
SONY VAIO FE11S
NEW APPLE MACBOOK PRO, 17" with a 2.16 GHZ processor
please help!

Got to say, there's no choice - get the PC. If all it is really for is entertainment, then it will do everything the Mac will and for less money. The single reason I can see for buying a Mac is if you work in publishing or design and can't be arsed knowing two lots of keyboard shortcuts.
I would also consider carefully if you need the sony - it's a premium brand and, as you'll not be placing much demand on it other than storage, you could probably move down the ladder a bit and still have something with power way in excess of what you need. Have a look at the Acer laptops - they do premium ones too but they're standard ranges have plenty oomph and, at the last time I was looking, they gave more bang to the buck. I probably wouldn't spend more than about £800 on a machine for entertainment use.
In my experience, the stability thing is way overstated. I've seen Macs go tits up in many instances and as for the virus thing, don't sweat it. Get a virus checker and use Opera instead of Outlook and you'll be fine.
