I really need advise on the following and i am unsure what to do -as you can imagine i am very stressed about this!
I have recently been told that I am unable to get Maternity Pay from the jobcentre as I have worked less than 26 weeks in the year leading up to my due date. (Nov). I am a contractor and i lost my job in may (after 3 months working) and was very stressed losing my job, my dr was worried it would affect babyso he put me off working for the rest of my pregnancy.
I submitted all necessary forms to the jobcentre, (sicknotes etc) and was told that I was not allowed to get incapacity benefit as i had been a full time student, (2 years ago), and they have put me on income support instead (around 60 a week).
I am also a single mum, (it took me courage to walk out on the relationship, but i was fed up of being hit. I had to protect my unborn child. Now I dont know where the father is living etc.. so i cant claim CSA).
I am finding it hard to survive on that money, and now the jobcenter have done that. Please help me! i dont know what to do.
