Dear Anon,
Needless to say, I'm with you on this! Skirts are all I ever wear (I'm a guy), and I'll never go back to pants (trousers in the UK) as they are the stupidist creation ever developed in my opinion. I wear extremely tight skirts, generally ankle length, so I've got virtually no "stride" for walking.
I enjoy the restrictive feel of these garments. Even so, I can climb stairs (awkwardly, I admit, but I can do it), ride the bus, and generally function in life without the freedom of unrestricted movement. I even wear 4" hobbles under my skirts to ensure my short steps and keep from splitting my seams in the few skirts I own without reinforced hems. I have never ridden a horse nor motorcycle, nor do ever intend to. I never drive a car, climb ladders or do any real manual or physical labor (I work in bookkeeping in an office). So, why in the world do I need pants!? I try to show everyone I meet that this is a valid lifestyle choice and males along with females have the right to choose whatever they want to wear, as long as it's not indecent nor unduly "provocative" (whatever that means). I remember seeing two ladies, one middle aged and one late teens or early 20s (probably the other's daughter), who worked at a Wal-Mart near my home. They both normally wore very tight straight skirts to work and the younger one usually wore ankle length ones similar to mine. No one thought anything about that and they even got concessions from management as to duties they were required to perfom based on what they can do in their skirts! (The young gal told me that.)
I only ask the same consideration for us all.
Sissie
