Some good advice

Postby BLyn on Tue Sep 30, 2008 8:46 am

hi girls,
Im 19 and I found this site cuz I too am late but definitely not pregnant. (my boyfriend has been across the country for 4 months and I havent slept with anyone else)
Well, ive been irregular all my life so ive had the "pregancy scare" before, so im not too worried about it. The best advice Ive learned and the best advice I have researched is NOT TO WORRY TO MUCH ABOUT IT. Our mentral cycles respond to many things in our lives. Like diet changes or other cycles around us (has anyone else ever noticed that some of your closest girlfriends can have the same cycle times as you?) some people's periods can adapt to the timing of their best friend's if theyre together all the time.
One of the biggest effects on our periods is STRESS. exams, dealines, work schedules, home life and WORRYING ABOUT BEING PREGNANT can cause major stress which can delay or skip one of your menstral cycles.
So, relax. Take the necesary tests and exams of course, but dont fill every second of your day thinking about it and asking your friends or driving yourself nuts worrying. If your tests say no, your most likely not pregant (especially you girls who have never had sex). So instead of jumping to the conclusion that your pregnant, think of all the other reasons you could have missed: Has my diet changed? Had my lifestyle changed? am i sleeping the same? has anything effected my personal life? relax, stress less, and go with the flow, literally. :) hope i helped. good luck everyone.

Hi, im 16 and i started my periods when i was 13 ,ive missed a few periods in my time, but never 2 months in a row, and now im like ahh! Ive got my GCSE's this year, but i dont feel stressed. and im defintly not pregnant. I would really not like to go to the doctors because she doesnt speak very good english and i cant understand what she says :P and i cant tell my mum as shes moved away. Is there anywhere else i could go instead of a doctors?
I am overweight, but i dont look it, just my weighin scales tell me. I have put on a bout 5 pounds as i have recently been on holidya in Agust. Could this do with anything?

im sorry that im kinda repeating what everybody else has said, but im quite worried.

Tomorrow I get the results from my second blood test and then I get the results from the ultra sound on Friday.
During the ultrasound the doctor said she couldn't see any signs of a baby which is good news for me.. but she also said that it could be because it's too soon to tell.
I didn't ask any questions to whether she could see any thing that could be causing my missed period.
I am pretty sure now that I'm not pregnant because if I was I would be 5-6 weeks and that would show up on ultrasound.
I hope I get some answers on Friday and help someone else out.

Yay I got my period.. I got it just after my last post. I'm not pregnant.
My ultrasound report wasn't ready yet but I'm not too concerned.
I'm now taking the pill.
If there is anything worth mentioning when I get the ultrasound back I will post again. I will just put my late period down to stress and excersise.

I'm 20 years old and I had unprotected sex using the pulling out method a few times (foolish, i know). I'm usually very regular so when I missed my period for 2 cycles I got super worried. I took 9 pregnancy test in a span of 2 months all showing negative. I finally went to a doctor and got a blood test and I got my period the next day! I didn't think nerves could delay me for that long, but apparently they can!

Could be a number of things: Stress, Exercise, Diet change. Take a test every week and if it's still negative maybe go see a doctor and they can put you on medication to help start your period again. Missing 2 cycles is perfectly okay... if you miss a 3rd, go see a doctor.

hi

i usually get my period at the same time every month... the whole 28 day cycle has kind of always worked for me.
i used to be on bc but stopped because i didnt think i needed it for not having sex.

well i stopped and had sex
but got my period. that was about two months ago.
since the last time i got my period and now, i havent had sex..

but im late. more than a week late. i have an appointment with the gyno in two weeks.
anyone know what it could be

i havent taken a preg test because i didnt think i needed it because i got my period after the last time i had sex.

ive got the cramps and lower back pain and the bloating and the sore boobs and all the symptoms i usually get when im about to get my period
but those usually last 2-3 days and then I actually get it

ive been having these pains for a good week and a half now
i dont know whats wrong

anything I should be worried about??

Hi, I'm 21 and was on the pill since I was 16 but stopped taking it ages ago (I reacted badly to it)
I went on the mini pill for about 2 months and had to come off that because I bled all the time and got spotty etc etc.
Went to the doctor on sept 1st to get the IUS fitted (before this I hadn't had a period for about 2 months) but because I haven't had children it was quite painful and I decided not to get it. I came on my period the next day.
I actually can't remember when I last had a period since then, I'm not pregnant (took a test today and it was negative)
Before all of this my periods were regular and I've been off the pill for ages now so my body should have got used to me not taking it.
I'm not stressed out about it, (in fact it only crossed my mind today that I haven't had a period in so long!)
The only thing that I've noticed is since I stopped taking the pill I've become really spotty and I wasn't before. I haven't put on or lost any weight, I feel fine.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

your not getting it because the pill tends to do that. all of my friends that stopped taking the pill, it screwed them up, because taking the pill isnt your real period, its a fake period because it stops the cycle. so once your body isnt use to having a cylce, its not gonna come back, right? dont need to be worried it does it to everyone after a long time

I'm really concerned.....

I've not had my period in 6 months aka since July, and before that I had my period in January or February I think.

I'm not on the pill or anything like that, and I'm not pregnant, but this is really a concern for me.

I've also noticed over the past few months some pinkish discharge, especially after sex but the past week its been a little more and I also feel a pressure in my abdomen. Not any pain just, discomfort.

I am overweight which I think is the cause of this, and I even suspect I may have PCOS but I dont know for sure. I'm just going by symptoms I've read about but no where have I read about a pinkish, even sometimes a little blood laced discharge. Can someone please help me?

i have the same problem. the last period i had was in june and have not gone back to birth control in hopes of it returning. i have taken about 5 pregnancy tests and all negative. i am extremely freaked out. i am 21 and wondering if this is turning into an epidemic.

this is the third message board i have been to and unless the same people our posting on multiple websites, than there are hundreds of women whose hormones have been royally screwed up because of birth control.
