I think that anyone who hasn't live with an MIL can say boo. There "are" MIL's that want their son back, no matter what. And will do anything to achieve that, even it's to break up their marriage. Mine just threw away the great dinner that I made last night. Her son, just watched. She played the maytr saying she has a headeache. And her son, my husband, say, Oh, you poor thing, go lay down. When in reality, she was just stabbing me.

For the people who think daughter in laws are jerks, stand up, give your address and we'll all ship our MILs to your house. You will quickly change your tone.

got the MIL out of the house  Gimme a high-5. Told the hubby that I'm finding her an apt. and he finally agreed. The moment they called and said an apt was ready, she was told it was ready. She cried and didn't want to leave because her monther said she's was gonna die in six months. Thanks mum. They thought I was putting her in an old folks home. They hate me because they said i was kicking her out. Of course my MIL failed to tell them that she had been searching for her own apt. She wanted me to look bad the whole way though. So I just gave her a boost. :D so the mother took her in and she's living with her month, who is 97. Gee, why didn't she do that in the first place. She just wanted to be nosy and see what we do in our house, that's all. She caused misery the entire time because she meddled into everything. Stupid hubby for lettting her. I had to take action and get my house back in order, and now it's done. Victory at last. Women may not have balls, but we have something else better.

If my son had married a woman who has as capable of hatred as much as some of you lot I would tell him to get on with it.

The truth is, many brides swallow the garbage about mothers in law wanting to hang onto their little boys, and they start off with hatred from the word go.

The truth is we sixty somethings want to cut the apron strings and enjoy life, we have better things to do than try to get them back.

Keeo our sons. You are welcome to them. Just spare us the hatred.

Some MIL's are so focused on me, me, me, themselves at this point in life, it's sick and like a one-man fan club.

To the MIL poster above: then don't give out the hatred and you shouldn't get it back. Your daughter in law usually wouldn't start disliking you unless there were a REASON.

And you DILs wonder why your MIL don't like you?

If you were smart and wanted to keep your man, you'd wise up and not make him make a choice between the woman who raised him and the woman he married. If you think you're not making him make a choice, keep being a biotch to his mother and see where that gets you.

I love my MIL. Sure, she does and says things that make me cringe sometimes but you won't find me treating her like crapola and talking like an ingrate to or about her. My husband and her grandchildren appreciate that.
