I need a free PDF reader for my Pocket PC.

Postby boingo on Mon Jul 30, 2007 1:30 pm

I've been hunting high and low for a free PDF reader that will actually work on my PDA. I've tried the free Adobe one, but it froze up the screen.
I've got a Viewsonic PocketPC V35 which has Winsdows 2003 for Pocket PC.
Adobe needs Windows 2003 and some update, but Windows is hard wired on a chip, so it's not able to be updated.

I also tried PocketXpdf v0.5.0 from a Zip file, but that didn't work, so I tried downloading the .CAB version to run it from the PPC rather than the big computer, but all download sites point me back to the software manufacturer's site on which neither download is working. :?

Any ideas will be most appreciated.
Thanks :)

You might be able to find an older version of the adobe acrobat reader for PPC, odds are it probably won't need the "fix". Although my PPC has windows 2003 hardwired and that didn't have a problem updating when it needed a patch, those patches usually just store themselves in the system memory...

I'm sure you can work google, but if you get stuck then let me know and I'll scout around and see what I can find myself.

Wow, thanks, Mono. I'll scoot off and see what I can find then. :)
