It's only a "lady" thing to do if you are doing to show other people (I know a few people who do that). If you are getting a nipple piering for yourself and your partner's enjoyment, I see no problem in that.

If all of your friends went septic than they either were not cleaning the new pierings carefully or did not go to a reputable piercer. Nipple Piercings require even more care than genital piercings and many people don't know that.

New Nipple Piercing

Hiya, I have a new nipple piercing, could anyone give me some advice on the best way to look after it? By the way, im proud to be forty, not going south yet  i had my piercing done for ME, a celebration of being forty and still having a lovely body, we all age but if we look after ourselves, can still be body beautiful at any age 8) By the way, my piercing goes through my nipple and it feels sore at the moment, but secretive, this in itself is a turn on.

Congratulations on getting your nipple pierced. It is a wonderful feeling and yes it is a turn on knowing that you have this piercing and no one else knows!

First and most important.....DO NOT TOUCH THE PIERCING while it is healing. Make sure you wash your hands with antibacterial soap prior to cleaning the piercing. You will want to soak your piercing in warm Sea Salt water (you can get sea salt from your local piercing shop). After you have soaked your piercing (approximately 10-15 minutes), wet the end of a Q-tip with warm/hot water and gently remove any remaingin "crusties" that have accumulated on the jewelry. You will also want to put some antibacterial soap in your hands, add some water and lather up the soap...apply this to the nipple and jewelry and work the jewelry back and forth as to work the soap into the piercing...rinse the jewelry and nipple and again work the jewelry back and forth to remove the soap. Make sure you have all "crusties" removed before working the jewelry back and forth...if you don't, you will know it because it does hurt!

It is hard to resist playing with the piercing, but it is important that you not handle the jewelry until it is healed. An infected nipple is very painful. If it happens to get infected, leave the jewelry in and do the sea salt soaks....this will help to remove the infection.

Enjoy your new piercing. Did you only get the one pierced or did you get both done? If you only pierced one, you will find that in time, the desire will overcome you to get the other pierced. Body piercing, just like tattoos becomes addictive.

Enjoy and keep us posted on your progress.

New Nipple Piercing

Postby Traci on Mon Aug 29, 2005 2:26 pm

Hiya Friend,

Thankyou for the very welcome advice. I have thought it would be nice to get the other one done as well, but it hurt so much the first time lol....... i have my nose pierced with a small delicate stud and i love it. I also have my belly button pierced. Im a girly girl so that too has pretty dangly jewelry in it. I have a tattoo on my left breast, quite small, i love that also. My nipple is the latest to have done. I started with the tattoo about ten years ago so probably have something done every few years. These all have been done for me alone to enhance my body and the way i feel about myself. I must say though that the nipple piercing was by far the most painful but the pain is certainly worth it, a minute of pain for a lifetimes gain, lol, that was corny! :)

You are right about "a minute of pain for a lifetime gain".... it is true. I am a straight male and had both nipples pierced at the same time about 2 1/2 years ago. I had contemplated the idea for several years only to chicken out each time a walked by a tattoo/piercing studio. Finally while out of town on a business trip, I finally got up enough courage to walk in and get both nipples pierced....a decision I will never regret.

Both were pierced at 14 gauge and I have since stretched them to 12 gauge (can't really call that a stretch I guess). This was my first piercing/body modification....but not my last. Since piercing my nipples, I have pierced both ears lobes, upper cartilage, added a PA, plus two tattoos, with a third on in the works. Each time I keep saying this is it, only to find the desire to get something else done.

Tattoos and Piercings are ADDICTIVE.....but an experience I love.

Best of luck with your nipple piercing and I look forward to your post as you share your 2nd nipple piercing!

Does your reply mean that you dont have any piercings or tattoo's? You say 'each to their own' !

Happy "early" birthday!! What a wonderful way to celebrate your 18th birthday by piercing your nipples...it will most definately be an experience you will never forget. It has been 2 1/2 years since I pierced both of mine and the experience is still fresh in my mind.

If you look in this post, actually a few posts before yours, you will see my post regarding cleaning procedure for nipple piercings. Basically make sure your hands are clean before cleaning your piercing. Do sea salt soaks, use a q-tip to clean off any crusties and use antibacterial soap to clean the piercing/jewelry while in the show.

Best of luck with your piercing and I look forward to reading your experience.

You are right, if you get one done, you will want both. My piercer said that's the cardinal rule of nipples...lol! Whether you get it three months or three years later- evetually you will get the seond. I did both mine at the same time. I warn you, the second one hurts more because you get more accustomed to the feeling of being pierced, so you become hyper sensative to it.
