I can see no reason for men to get aroused in the sauna if you are there genuinely. If you do happen to get a little "excited" I am sure the cold showers or plunge pool would soon cool "things down". But it is frustrating how some men seem so proud of it. I was in one sauna in Germany and when I went in "au natural" of course, the only other person in there was a german teenager (14 - 17 ?) It wasn't long before he got a little aroused and as he laid on the top bench in front of me his little pinky did start to grow. Well it wasn't that little actually. saunas were invemted to be used in the nude just like showers or baths were!! you would not put a bikini or shorts on to have a shower would you so why do that for a sauna?! us brits have to come to terms with the naked body and realise that we all have one and it is natural as they do in other parts of europe. You wont know how much better it feels to sauna nude rather than in a bikini or shorts untill you have tried it so give it a go!

Totally agree ! The more of these leisure clubs and sports centres that offer this type of facility the better. Nearly every country in Europe has hotels etc with clothing optional saunas and co-ed showers. Why are we so stuck up in the UK. with the EU looking for continuity within Europe we are the minority !

i am a young male and i went to the sauna in selby today!! the attendance was 100% male only 6 ppl were there all night! might be because of the hot weather thou. i got there about 4.30 and left and 7.45

i would have stayed longer but was offput by an incident!!! another young male came in while i was in the relaxation area i then went to put something in my locker before going in to the sauna, he was in there with an erect penis! i moved to the steam room after a couple of mins he then followed me in there still sporting an erection i then went to the showers again he followed me so i showered and then went to dry my hair with the hair dryer, as i looked in the mirror i saw the most shocking thing he was masterbating watching me!!!!

i do not expect this in a mixed nude sauna even if no women are there! if it was just an unoptune erection i could have overlooked it but not with everything else

this is my third visit to the sauna and i have NEVER seen or heard of this behaviour before so it will not put me off i will go again! i think thurs nights are better and are more mixed women do go on both nights but not enough

Unfortunately you have experienced the sort of behaviour that is deplorable. If these sort of people get away with it they will just keep harrasing those that want to use the facility correctly.
I hate to say it but if you left before him you should have gone to the front desk and pointed him out to management when he left. Having been to Selby he cannot leave without passing through the barrier. We do want these sort of people at these venues !
