Katie.K, it sounds like the experience made an impression on you. It wouldn't surprise me if you end up dabbling in BDSM (if you haven't already). Certainly if your curiosity about this is still strong but you aren't really sure where to go to learn more, there are resources out there. Maybe starting off with some light reading...?
One book (allegedly based on fact) is called The Q Letters which you might get a kick out of.
Try finding a local BDSM club and getting involved. You don't need to participate unless the urge strikes you. Still, watching and asking questions can be quite enlightening. Be wary of anyone (especially male) who is eager to 'teach' you. If it's a good organisation, you'll find that the members will be quite protective of any newbie, and usually quite aware of any outsider known to be a threat for his abusive and non-consensual behaviour.
