Pee my pants

Postby Kayleen on Mon Aug 08, 2005 7:17 am

Can someone please advise. I had a little girl some 7 months ago, but I`m still having trouble keeping my pants dry. Yes, I`m doing all the tummy exercises we were shown however I still had to resort to wearing nappies. How long does it last. This is my first child and at this rate she`ll be out of nappies before me. I`m desperate!

It takes at least a year for your body to recover from pregnancy and birth. If you are worried check with your gynae but I am sure that this problem should go away gradually. (I had a similar problem but am over it now.)

We had 3 children over less than 4 years which put an enormous stress on my poor little bladder, so for about 2 and a half years I was in diapers. You will get over it. Good luck.

its not the tummy muscles that control your bladder, its your pelvis muscles, so you have been doing the wrong one.
You need to squeeze the one that would make you stop peeing half way threw.
Squeeze, hold for 5 seconds then release, do this 15 times about 5 times a day.

They're called kegel excercises and it stretches the Pubococcygeus muscle :)

Some people need surgery to comntrol their bladder after having a baby.

You should be doing pelvic floor excersise. Your midwife should of talked about this with you os you should of been doing then during pregnancy. It is so easy to do. You just squeeze as though you are holding a wee in hold it for about 10 seconds then relax. Do it as many times as possible. Its a good thing to do when you are standing washing up or something like that.

I hope you get sorted soon cos I know how upsetting it can get.
