My husband has suggested that I get a septum ring so he can take me on a leash. I'm very excited by the idea but worried about having a needle thrust through my nose. The nipples were painful and I suspect that would be much worse.[/quote]

Everyone has their own levels for pain, of course, but in general the septum is probably no worse than the nipples. There are two major benefits, however. You only have one septum.....and the healing time is usually a lot less. Go for it!

Thanks for your comments. I guess I'm going for it as hubby has booked an appointment for Wednesday.
I've just seen the ring he wants me to wear through my septum, it looks HUGE (well I suppose its around 1" in diameter). I'm so nervous!

Did you and your husband keep the appointment to have the ring put in your septum? If so, how did it go-well I hope.

Yes, I now have a stainless steel ring firmly through my septum.
I was quite painful but not quite as bad as I expected.
Obviously my nose is somewhat sore at the moment and I will have to get used to the sensation of weight hanging from my nose.
I also have to get used to the looks I am getting with a fairly unusual piercing and the comments from my friends and work colleagues.

Locked In: congratulations! I'm sure that you will really get a buzz from your new ring. What sorts of reaction are you getting from your friends and colleagues? (and I wonder how many of them would really like to do the same!!!)

Locked In,

Congratulations on your new jewlery addition. I am sure you will soon become accustomed to the weight and sensation it will provide in your nose. As for the added attention you receive, I am sure that many will be wishing jealously that they were wearing one also.
Compared to your nipples, how was the pain level? I hope your hubby was compassionate enough to be with you and at least hold your hand.
Keep us posted on your progress.

Thats a difficult question to answer. Firstly my nipples were done a few years ago and one tends to forget even painful experiences over time and secondly it was a completely different sort of pain. The best answer I can give is that they were of a similar pain level. No he didn't come to hold my hand!

Locked In,

I understand exactly what you mean about forgetting the pain level after the passage of time as my nipples have been pierced for 10+ years. I have really wanted my left nostril adorned with a little diamond stud but haven't since where I teach forbids facial jewelry; they even frown on my three earrings per ear but haven't ever said anything since I had them when hired. Might consider having my septum done as I could wear a filp-up retainer & have it done during summer vacation.
Keep us posted on how you are doing & any new adventures.

How are you doing in your new permanent ankle cuffs? Were you wearing a chain to your piercing session? If so were there any reactions?

Thanks for the responses. My nose is settling down quite well and the tenderness has almost disappeared. I am now getting somewhat used to the weight hanging there (at first I kept thinking I had a large dewdrop hanging from my nose), but other peoples reaction takes a bit more getting used to. I think I would have taken it out if hubby didn't like it so much. When my mother saw it she was horrified. It needs to heal a bit more before hubby can attach a leash to me.
The ring is 2mm gauge and 16mm diameter solid stainless steel with a ball closure. It would need pliers to release the ball.
No I didn't wear a chain linking my anklets when I went to get pierced. I don't think it would be safe driving while wearing one.

Locked In,

Glad to hear you are doing well. I would assume that now the worst is over since most everyone you know has seen your pretty new nosering so now they will just accept it as part of who you are; are you secretly enjoying the attention? What did your mother think about your ankle bracelets or does she already know about them?
Keep us posted on your progress and adventures; especially your first leashing.

Jenna,

Mother didn't comment on my anklets and I certainly wasn't wearing a chain. Outwardly they don't look like bits of bondage equipment (deliberately).
I'm fairly used to people looking at my face now and sometimes wonder why they are staring before I remember that I have a fairly large ring through the middle of my nose.
It was my birthday on Sunday and much to my delight I was presented with a necklet and a pair of bracelets to match my anklets. They were very quickly fastened on. They have the same unopenable catches as the anklets. I spent last night with my ankles fastened with the shortest chain, a similar chain linking my wrists and then linked to the necklet. I was helpless and absolutely loved it.
Tonight I am being taken for a belated birthday dinner at a 5 star hotel. Not at all sure what I'll be required to wear.
