I haven’t posted here for ages and I’ve forgotten the password to my member account! I’ve had my ears pierced for around 11 months now and I’ve worn earrings in them every day since they were pierced. I’ve also had another ear piercing in the right cartilage (with a needle not a gun) which I got after finishing school in July. I have put a link to show you a recent photo of me with my cartilage piercing.

Would be great to here from you guys,

Scott - the new piercing looks great and it suits you. I like it that you have kept your choice of earrings subtle - massive rocks just look naff. Did you find that the last piercing hurt any more or less than the others? When I had one done it hurt like hell!

Chris and AB 79:

The cartilage piercing itself didn’t hurt, there wasn’t much pain just as a pop as the needle went through and another pop as the ring was slid through. In comparison to my earlobes there wasn’t much difference to the pain level. However, the cartilage ring was agony when you tried to sleep on it for about two weeks after; it was such a sharp pain that ran straight through the nervous system. I never experienced anything like that with my earlobes, no pain in fact.

I’m not sure about doubles but it does remain a possibility. I haven’t ruled out getting one, or both. I was originally going to get a double in my left ear, but I switched to a cartilage piercing instead.

I can’t believe it’s almost a year now since I got my earlobes pierced, but I’m glad I did as I’ve worn earrings every day since they were pierced and it’s going to stay that way. I normally wear small gold studs (the ones in my photo) simply as I think they suit me best, but I have quite a lot of others.

I’d appreciate any comments on my earrings or what people think I should wear. I would also be interested to hear what people think about (a) double piercing(s) on me.

Scott.

Your earrings look awesome!! I think you would look great with doubles even triples in your ears. Youre so lucky that your girlfriend is right behind you when it comes to piercings

If you are thinking of a double piercing, I'd get BOTH ears done. I made the mistake of getting only my left ear double pierced. For several years now, I have been wanting to wear two earrings in my right ear, but can't because I don't have my right one double pierced, and I cannot get it done because I need to wear an earring during the healing time, and my career doesn't permit earrings, etc.

This is what made me to become an "advocate" for earrings for men and boys - to make them more acceptable so that we can wear them whenever we want, wherever we want.

Always remember that right now, even though you have both ears pierced, you can always wear just an earring in your left ear, and have the one earring look, right? Even though you have a hole in your right ear!

This is what I hear most guys saying, that once they have their ears pierced, they are glad they did it. Many guys also say they wish they had gotten their ears pierced sooner, and feel they missed out on wearing earrings more because they didn't. This is usually caused from being apprehensive about getting their ears pierced. Once they get over the "hurdle" and get them done, they see that there is really nothing to be concerned about.

I think guys should wear their earrings all the time, because by doing this, we are increasing popularity of earrings for guys. If we go around with nothing in our ears, this does not make earrings for guys more acceptable. And we need to wear neat, dignified looking earrings in order to do this.

The gold studs you wear are a GREAT choice - they look very nice on you, and give a clean, neat appearance. They are not too large for your ears or your face.

I am a moderator of two groups on Yahoo that promote earrings for men and boys. We would be glad to have you join us. You can find us at:

groups.yahoo.com/groups/ear_piercing_for_men

groups.yahoo.com/groups/ear_piercing_for_boys

I feel you would be a great asset to our groups, as you have had great success with your earrings.

Perhaps you can post up some more pics on here with you wearing different kinds of earrings. Hoops or other kinds of studs, such as silver studs, cz studs, etc.

I think double piercings will look good on you because of the shape of your ears, and you have the space for them. You can get more creative with two holes than with one, as you can wear two different kinds of studs, a hoop and a stud, or two hoops of different sizes. I would not go for triples, I think that would overpower your ears. Especially since you have the top of your left ear pierced now.

The human body is no different than decorating a house - you can underdo it or overdo it. There is a "comfort zone" that everyone has, and it varies with person to person.

Congratulations on being pierced for a year, and lets keep on wearing our earrings!

.......
When my teenaged son said he wanted his ear pierced back in about 1980, I was a bit shocked at first. I was in my early 50s at the time and hadn't even had my ears pierced, and didn't intend to. Not so many boys had it done in those days, but his favourite singer did, and he wanted it as well.

So he went into town and he got it done.

Afterwards, as his mum I helped my son to clean his ear piercing with surgical spirit, and revolve the stud and I thought it looked really nice. He told me that after stinging a bit, it felt really nice to have the stud going through his earlobe. Well, as a woman with untouched earlobes, that got me a bit curious.

It was seven whole months before the curiosity finally got the better of me and I went and had studs of my own pierced into my ears. It was an experience I enjoyed so much that within a few months I was back in the jeweller's chair getting double piercings!

I am now aged 80, (and have finally got the hang of how these computers work.) I have my son to thank for getting me into ear piercing all those years ago!

I think two in each ear might be too much for me. I’d have a total of 5 earrings then which could be too much.

This is what made me to become an "advocate" for earrings for men and boys - to make them more acceptable so that we can wear them whenever we want, wherever we want.

I agree.

Always remember that right now, even though you have both ears pierced, you can always wear just an earring in your left ear, and have the one earring look, right? Even though you have a hole in your right ear!

Yeah I could do that but so far I’ve only worn them in both (apart from the brief time before I got my right ear pierced) Most people like both, my mum especially, so that’s what I stick to.

I’m very glad I got them done, I also agree, I wish I’d had them done sooner. My mum was going to pierce my left ear when I was little but my dad wouldn’t allow it. I really wish she had though.

Slight correction, I have the top of my right ear pierced.

Chris, I will check out your groups. Thanks for the invite.

I agree, if you allow your daughter to do so, then you must allow your son to also.

Nutter.

Guest, there is no point asking him those questions, the kid isn't his.

He does this all the time with his weird fixation.
