That is a very good definition of envy. However, that is not the meaning list in the O.E.D, so sorry it doesn’t count. We'll have to get our person who studied Classical history in on that one.

poor thing. the world is much more complicated than one line definitions. people that are beyond your level intellectually see things in a different way, often without even realising that a difference in understanding exists. i suppose the reciprocal situation goes for people of lesser intellect, too.
