I've just spent the last half an hour cutting some of the more irritating labels out of some of my clothes.
Labels are there for a number of purposes - to show the material, the size, the place of manufacture, and washing instructions. They are also there sometimes to show where the front and back of a garment is supposed to be!
But quite frankly I don't need to know if an item is made in China, once I know an item fits me I don't need to know the size, and most things just get thrown in the wash unless the colour is going to transfer on to other things.
I must admit that a couple of times I have accidently put my knickers on back to front, inside out, or even sideways, but that was as a result of getting dressed in the darkness and the labels were still attached!
The other problem is that sometimes the label is visible through thin light-coloured clothing. Some thongs I bought recently had labels that were actually bigger than the entire back of the Thong!
But care must be exercised. I had a skirt on which I cut off the label too far up, and this resulted in the waistband gradually becoming unstitched.
So if you ever see me wearing a shrunken, blotchy, back-to-front skirt around my ankles, you'll know what I've been up to!
