Hi all, I wrote this on the other pregnancy board but got no replies. Can anyone relate to what I'm about to mention? I hope I'm not the only one feeling this way as I feel totally useless.

I found out I was pregnant whilst I was jobsearching. Me and my partner and the whole family are thrilled. However, although I'm applying for jobs and getting interviews, I haven't been able to attend any of them as I feel sick all day long and sometimes it gets so bad I just have to lie down. I don't know how I'm going to work whilst I'm pregnant. I might be able to do some work from home but it would be great to know if any of you girls out there are in the same predicament as me.

I had an interview the other day and went to it but by the time it was over I just had to get home because I was feeling ill again.

I salute all of you who are able to get up and go to work for the day. Me, I end up staying most of the day at home watching tv, reading, going on the internet and relaxing but I feel useless as in between time I feel ill and can't do much. I leave the house on occasions and go for a little stroll and then start to feel tired and sick again. Meh!

Please, anyone out there like this?
Thanks x

I am 11 weeks pregnant and have felt sick and exhausted from pretty much the day I found out. I have been getting up at 5am throwing up and making it to work on time, even having to throw up at work sometimes. I was getting home from work having dinner and going straight to bed... when you have a job you dont have the choice whether you get up or not you have to if you want to get paid. I think its all in the mindset, I would love to lay in bed in the morning or laze around all day watching tv but I cant afford to do that so I go to head and get my head down and try not to think about it. Thats what you have to do just get on with it.....

Thanks for the reply TWEEBEE. Yeah, it's not good. I salute you for carrying on. I'm lucky to not be sick but the feeling is so bad that sometimes I might as well be, if you get my drift. Not that I want to be though! ew! As you said, if I had a job, I would just get on with it, I'm sure. Do they know at your work that you're pregnant?

I'm going to interviews and just about surviving them but I do get some odd looks as I tend to go very pale. So, I can't tell my new employer the situation that I'm in if I want a job, and if I don't tell them I'll lose my job anyway because I won't be able to stay on my feet all day long. It's an active job the one I've applied for recently, which doesn't help...I'm waiting for responses from other posts which are office-based.

It's a bit of a catch-22 I guess...

Here is the ONLY way I survived working and being pregnant.

1. Wake up and grab a cold glass of milk
2. Sit in the bottom of the tub with the shower going feeling like I am going to puke my guts out.
3. SLOWLY sip/drink the milk
4. Once my stomach settled I could at least start the day.
5. Suck on ALOT of peppermints and lemon drops throughout the day

6. I have heard that ginger calms your stomach down but I never tried it. Take ALL of your needed vitamins. Never miss or you wont make it through the day.
