I had my ear's pierced when I was 14. I'm now 27 and still wear earrings. At the time of having my ears pierced I wasn't very fashionable in fact a quiet shy teenager scared of what other people would think.

I was down town shopping with my mum looking for a new jacket for me. (My worst nightmare at the time) I didn't like anything as usual and in the end my mum decided on a jacket and I was having it, no arguements. It was a Starter Chicago Bulls jacket, consider to be a bit of a bad boy jacket at the time. Whilst paying for it, three boys walked into the store wearing bulls jackets, all with pierced ears. My mum saw these boys and then turned to me and annouced I'm getting your ears pierced.

Twenty minutes later i'm sat in a chair in claires having my ears pierced. At the time I was extremely annoyed and upset with my mum. But I'm so glad she forced me into all of the above because after a few days of wearing my new jacket and earrings I came to realise to not worry what others think and I actually got lots of good comments on my new look.

So if anybody is thinking about getting ears pierced and is worried what others will say, don't worry just go do it.

do you think it is okay for a teen to be made to get his ears pierced like you?
why were you upset with your mum, what was it that caused upset?
what earrings did your mum make you get?

My mum is very conscious of what other people think, she wanted me to look fashionable and I was to scared of other people's reactions to do anything so bold. I just wanted to fade into the back ground. My mum forced me into having my ear's pierced because lots of lads my age had it done and she wanted me to fit in, I guess? I'm sure if I had put up more resistance it wouldn't have happened though, but I didn't like argueing with her.

I personally wouldn't force a teenager to have his/her ears pierced. Though I don't think my mum was wrong pushing me to haveing it done.

My upset with my mum was totally down to me being scared of other peoples reactions. The earrings were just plain gold piercing studs until a couple of months later when I decided to wear sleeper earrings.

Why thank you for calling me Julie H. I've not been called that before! I will not be posting a picture of myself to justify my post. It's entirely up to the indivdual reader to decide on what he/she thinks of my posts. I'm simply telling my story.

The reason these posts keep happening is because people keep responding to them. Just let them die.

No, you may rest assured I am not.

Julie H is a person otherwise known as McMum who I have fought here.

Julie H are the members Rebman, Rem Bran, Dwayne Johnson and Alex170170.

I have taken on each and every on of them. It isn't just because they post crap, it is because there is perversion with each one of them.

And the above guest is very likely to be Julie H/McMum etc.

Well, this is my take on it.

The poster doesn't seem to have any of the classic hallmarks of Julie H/McMum etc, so in other words, this poster might not be Julie H at all, or, she may have learned from her mistakes that were giving her away.

My gut instinct makes me think that the poster (the Chicago Bulls poster, not the troll saying Julie is me) isn't Julie H. Though the story sounds rather unrealistic, I don't think this is Julie H's style from what she has previously written (i.e. it is a very tame story). I also think Julie H likes to be "sensationalist" in that she wants her posts to be as unrealistic as night being day. I don't think this post achieves that.

On this basis, I am willing to give the poster the benefit of the doubt. But I think the poster should speak a lot more to be able to make a judgment properly.

As regards the story, I think it is unrealistic but possible (in comparison to her saying she'd pierced her 3 year old (?) about 3 or 4 times for example, which is equivalent to saying the Pope is female). As a parent myself, this indicates that this is either bollocks or there is one mental mother out there who needs to be sectioned.

With the Chicago Bulls post, I think it is more realistic. I have for example, with my kids’ friends, seen parents inflicting the most ridiculous hairstyles on their kids. However, having several teenagers and a soon-to-be 14 year old myself I don’t think for a second that any of them would be passive about being forced into something. Teenagers always have something to say, even when they aren’t moaning.

I think the poster should speak more in my opinion and lets see what becomes of that.

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether to say "he" or "she". On the one hand this sad individual is the females Julie H and McMum, and on the other the males Alex170170, Rebman, Rem Bran and Dwayne Johnson.

I think it would simply be better to refer to this person as "the nutter".

That's a relief - it's just that you seem to know him/her so well! And it ain't me either. I have posted here before but not very often and not recently. When I do, I use one ID and one ID only on Family and it has no connection with Jule H at all.

I know his/her multiple names and accounts because I've challenged him/her thoughout many threads since last September! Julie H (and other names) is the biggest troll on this board!

Anyway, I do feel this thread is straying from its intended topic.

Lets ignore any Julie H's and continue.

Guest #1 and piercing

Postby Nicom on Mon Jul 07, 2008 4:40 pm

Dear Guest #1,

I hope you got both your ears pierced. When you buy new earrings they're almost everytime with two, and than you can wear both if you want. A friend I've seen again this weekend had also both his ears pierced.

Let us all know something about what you finally did.
