Just found this post and I too am a husband that wants a second set of pierced earrings. I have both ears pierced with one hole healed well. for years.... Good thing is that my wife is all for it. Several times I have pierced them and not kept them in. Like on vacation an such. Not sure when I can do it with healing time and all , but it will happen soon. I love the hoops in my ears now and I think a second hole with a small diamond stud will look perfect.
I still don't wear earrings in public much. Some day.
I am 52 now and I guess I shouldn't put it off too long. |
What size hoops do you wear? i wear about 3/4" dia , i love the feeling of a hoop dangling from my ear, i didn't get mine done till i was 55 & i wish i'd done it years ago. |

Most of the time I wear small silver hoops that are about 3/4" but when we make love I have tried them all. It is such a turn on for me to feel the big ones and she knows I like it.
I guess I'm not alone , just stuck here in a conservative mid west USA and not enough back bone to be different |

Wow. For some reason this topic always seems to provoke some controversy, doesn't it? Personally I don't see the issue, not any more. Once upon a time earrings, or really any jewellery beyond a watch and wedding ring on a man was cause for comment, but times have changed. I work at a community college with a pretty large ethic population, and I would say the number of males with earrings, two or more, is well over half, propably closer to two-thirds or three-quarters. Guys also wear necklaces, bracelets, multiple rings, etc. I myself have had both ears pierced for several years, although I don't wear earrings as often as I used to.
Folks are certainly entitled to their opinion, pro or con. Obviously not everyone likes the look, and that's cool. But I do think the question of whether it is "socially acceptable" or not is pretty much a non-issue these days, if our school is any indication. |

I too have found that in the larger cities and larger setings it makes no difference how many and what kind of earrings I wear. But in this small town and close family setting that I live in I am still self conscious about my earrings.
I still will pierce my ears a second time soon, and wear earrings at home , but I will probably not wear them in public much. Diferent world.
I just love those earrings. Especially when they Klink together on multiples . Every time we go to Wal-Mart I find a new pair to wear. Must have 20 pair now....
A new vacation is coming soon ( FEB.) an so is a new set of holes to wear jewelry in. |

| Just found this thread - I work in a bank in the City (London), which is very conservative. I'd love to get my both ears pierced, just wondered if any guy above is in a similar work-related position and if they've managed to carry off piercing their ears? Would be great to get your views... |

Well I was on vacation for a couple of days and I pierced a second set of holes in each ear. Wow! I love the way they look, with a small hoop and a small stud diamond above ..
I can't believe I waited this long to double pierce my ears.
My wife loves them , and she showed me. |

I pierced my right ear when I did not know there was a "code" of piercing. I had that for many years but very rarely wore an earring in public-only in private. My first wife said goodbye to me and absolutely hated the earring thing. But my second liked it alot. I braved the culture with her and was received by most. I pierced the right ear a second and third time. She liked it-and the intimacy was great too. I really agree with all of the men who like to wear earrings- that I like the feel and feeling of the earrings in my ears. I like the studs but really like lever-back or hoops.
The first hole got too big and I had it medically repaired leaving the 2nd and 3rd holes.
During this time I had "play pierced my left ear . It had not healed but was not too far from being there. One day at my job (at that time, self employed) I tried putting an earring in it and with abit of effort it went in pretty easily. I loved it! For some reason wife was only so-so.
Now when I wear an earring in public I will wear the one in the left ear. She likes it (I wish she would buy earrings for me-it is very rare she does). My wife likes the three but probably in private only. I want to finally re-pierce my right ear again in the lobe-the usual place. But this time I want her to actually pierce it for me. This is to have her be a part of this neat experience and the joy I would find with her wanting me to have it. I think she would if I would regularly wear my earrings. My current job of nine years-I can't-only one-left.
After being pierced for 28 years I would really like to have the feeling of balance with both sides pierced in the lobes, and have the two ascending from the right lobe.
I might want one more in my left ear too. Those lever-back, hoops or huggie type of earrings with small diamond studs just above- that would look great on me!
If I could I would gladly ear earrings all of the time. |

I see I am not alone out here. I didn't have the balls to let my second holes heal all the way and took the earrings out when I got home. I miss the second holes now,, and my wife can't understand why I just don't leave the earrings in.
I wish I could leave them double pierced but then again ,, I do still have something to look forward to next vacation!.
If I let the second holes heal I would just want a third hole next time. I guess I should just be happy with a double piercing for vacation times. |

Not for me, thanks, but no. No problem with those who do.
Did you see the article where the airport security removed a nipple stud from a lady, with pliers? Ouch! |

then I would do the piercing to give yourself what you and your wife wants. Enjoy the freedom you have. I wore an earring on a date night with my wife to Downtown Disney and she really enjoyed that I did and commented so. |

| You are right! Most men would be thrilled to have a wife that wanted him to get a second earring pierced in each ear. I'm 52 yrs old and retired. I have a 2 foot long not grey pony tail and I want those second set of earrings. I think I can pull it off. Just have to get past the family. Strong Family. Can't even bear to wear any earrings around them. Not strong enough. |

Tracker , I understand. If you want to be stronger than you are currently ask yourself why you think they would reject you? If it "is not normal for men to wear earrings" idea, is it normal for men to wear your length of hair? Maybe. Look to what you want to be and respect your family. If they are loving-balanced in their relationship with you I would hope they would see that you also love who you are and you want to be a bit stronger than they have ever seen you-not in defiance but in a fashion they have never been. |

Any thoughts? |
That is definitely a no-no for me - I find men with pierced ears a bit creepy! |
