| How can this ever work? You've no idea who you're sending it to. |

| I've had a search for Bluetooth names on trains and found a few weird names. I found the name 'Wahwahwewoo' once, sent it a picture of Bugs Bunny (honest!) and it turned out to be the ticket collector! I've noticed that Sony Ericsson phones seem to 'beep' when someone tries to contact them. The ticket mans phone was a K800i. |

I think a name like slippery nipples you would get somebody trying to contact you. Has anybody got any other names that might get somebody interested? |

Please tell me you are joking, bluetooth is connecting to people within 50yards of you by mobile phone. You don't need to know their number, your phone will pick up somebody elses phone details and you can send them a message. So if you can contact strangers in a bar or supermarket by scanning the area, if they have a sexy or suggestive name then you could say " fancy comming back to mine for a bunk up" for example. |

Thing is though, you cant. You can only send files. Ive never met anyone who can send texts by blue tooth. |

| Mine is Vino's Mom. Yeah like on American Pie cos Vino's mates all get on well with me and so hence the nickname! I had someone try to connect with me in town once but I rejected it! Have thought about sending things but never did it. Mine beeps too so it would give it away if they blue toothed back to find out who I am. |

There are several applications out there. Mobiluck for example that supports sending text and pictures. Problem is that anyone interested must have the application active. Otherwise all cell phones are set to un discoverable. There are other apps that are free like Blueee!, and BlueTooth Messenger.
The problem is there is no standard so people in an area have to pick a program. Mobiluck is said to send to any device and it has the nice feature of vibrating when any other bluetooth device is in range of your bluetooth. It also has a radar feature to alert you to people on your friends list that are near you.. It works mostly via web and you have to enter you location..
Someone just needs to make a single standard or application popular. Mobiluck is the only one making any progress. There are a few hookers that use it! |
