spit and chew eating disorder

Postby als thompson on Tue Jan 29, 2008 10:06 pm

it is a relief to see that i am not alone. i suffered from anorexia for two years and am trying to recover from the bulimia that has had a hold of my life for 10 years. i have not been sick for 3 months now but have started to chew and spit. although i realize this is not so dangerous as the bulimia, i am still finding it quite distressful and am scared things are just going to get worse. it seems like too good a compramise not to give up now. any ideas? :)

cs is addictive

Everyone starts out thinking, I will do this once in a while, but gradually, it over takes you life. I now treat cs as an occational treat--no more than once a week. I notice the day after cs i feel bloated, and i gain weight instantly it seems from it. So if you're just starting the habit, get off of it fast, because it doesn't work. It really does cause weight gain. At the hight of cs after I had a baby and went through postpartum--I did it almost everyday and gained 15 pounds over a year! As soon as I weaned myself off, the pounds came off too!

I think C & Sing is a great tool for binge eaters trying to stop, however with any other ED, it can be even more dangerous

Chew and Spit

Postby AmberLee on Wed May 21, 2008 8:56 pm

I have read this whole msg board and i am soooo sad and disturbed.

I suffered with an ED for a long time...now i just C/S...

After reading all this i have decided to stop. TODAY.

I am going to reply to some of the questions i read above;

YES- IT IS AN EATING DISORDER
YES- YOU WILL GAIN WEIGHT (i have gained 15pounds since i started)
YES- YOU CAN STOP NOW

We can do this! We can conquor this issue with support and love from our friends and family. Above all else, we need to love ourselves, and understand that we are good, even with a bigger bum, or thicker waist.

PLEASE READ THIS AND MAKE A CHANGE. IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN TOO.

It's better feel like you wasted food than to feel like a waste of a person.

I don't even care if it makes me gain weight. I like chewing and spitting, it makes me feel beeter about myself.

I can't stop chewing and spitting!

I know it's bad but I found a way to do it without getting any of the calories! Don't swallow AT ALL. The reason people gain weight from c/s is because they swallow a few of the calories before spitting the food out. If you don't swallow at all and spit all the saliva out of your mouth, then wash your mouth out when you're done, you barely get any calories!

I am 22 and did this for 2 years and gained over 7 kilos. i slowly stopped and kept getting compliments on how good I was looking as i was loosing weight! I gained because it got out of control and I was binging but it did start of slow. DON'T DO THIS!!!! STOP now you can do it, if I can anyone can because I have an addictive personality!! I look so much better now, no more puffy face, bad skin and am getting fitter and healthier by the day!!! I would be lying to say that i don't think about it cause i do!!! I just remind myself of how bad I felt and how much weight it made me gain!!! You are beeter of enjoying the treats in smaller proportions as it will be less calories than C and S ing!!! GOODLUCK! stay strong!!!
