Lessons in 2 places!

Postby H1 » Mon Dec 18, 2006 3:04 pm

I'm going to start driving soon, however, I am at uni in a county, but it's 3 hours away from home so I can't get a train back home for driving lessons! Has anyone had lessons from two different instructors? Or should I take them at uni and not at home, or rush through lessons and the test during the summer holiday and get it by next september when I go back? :?

Do you want to learn to drive or learn to pass the test?

If you want to learn to drive, any instructor should do.

If you only want to pass the test, learn in one location and that instructor will know where the test centre is and take you around there so you know the roads. The down side is that when you come to drive anywhere else, it will all be strange to you as will night driving, motorways, etc. If you're at uni in a very rural area, there may not even be a dual carriageway for miles. The traffic will be very different to a city as well.

I learned to drive over a wide area but only used one instructor near home. That was probably a good balance.
