hi there
rosie im glad to hear you are seeing a difference with this body brushing!!! i as well have decided that this is going to be my course of action (along with the oils) as jean wu is just too time consuming for me. can i ask how do you do the brushing?? i am a little scared that i will tear the skin even more if i do it the wrong way. if you could elaborate a little that would be great.

i live in australia and i bought the jean wu method. i bought US dollars in the form of a cheque or something from the bank and sent it over. she does send internationally.

i bought my body brush from the health food store for $10. the chemist and priceline (everything a girl needs kind of store) didn't have the right ones.

i just been on ebay and found microfibre cloths that are meant to help. Sounds a bit like a joke this cloth is said to be the anwser to all skin ailments. Stretchmarks acne etc..all you gotta do is add water! If it was really that simple im guessing this guy would be a billionaire by now so im very skeptical but at the same time im that desparate i think i mite try it. Has anyone heard of it or used it? What do you think? Loada crap or possible solution?

just to give an intro - I had stretchmark since i was about 14 im now 21. They're near enough everywhere on my upper body and are slowly creepin in on the clear parts of my beautiful skin :x just started doin jean wu (im from UK btw) and i dont know if its my skin resurfacing or if its just been really bruised cos i was scrubbing too hard but my skin on my shoulders which is the area i concentrated most on is peeling and feels like fine sandpaper!! Im hoping this is a good thing and that it means its working but dont know i might have just damaged my skin. Ive done jean wu before but like most people found it too time consuming and gave up but im determined to stick to it now. i saw results last time in my eyes anyway and this time round although i dont know if its bad or good somethings going on with my skin so fingers crossed!!

Hi pinkish hue!
I was also very worried that i would tear my skin further by body brushing but havnt experienced this,it is a worry though!
I brush my stomach marks using circular brushes and the rest of my body marks(calves, thighs, hips, bum etc etc)using light upward strokes,i do this because i figure the skin is thinner here and dont want to do any further damage!
I dont think you are supposed to brush on wet skin as i think this would tear the skin!
Someone did post up a link to info on body brushing, have you read this? you might find it useful!
I brush until my skin is pink....unless im in a bad mood then i will take my anger out on my marks wi th my brush until my skin is red!!...lol (dont recommened this though!!! I just get so frustrated sometimes!!)
Hope ive helped somehow and good luck if you decide to brush, keep us posted on how you get on!!
By the way i just want to make it clear i havnt noticed any difference in the size of my marks,i just noticed new hairs growing on my stomach and my skin feeling smoother!
Best of luck to you!!!

Hi stretchy!
I dont really know what to make of the dermabrasion cloths,i use one each morning in the shower(have done for months now)and i havnt personally noticed any significant improvments using it,i put my skin feeling smoother down to the body brushing.ive just got into the habit of using it now,i suppose in the hope it will help somehow!
I hope you can stick to the jean wu,ive stopped and started it a few times now,i really beleive if you are determined enough and consistant with it,that it could actually work!
There was a person who posted on the old thread who got rid of her marks using the jean wu method and from what i remember she followed it exactly, changing ammount of days between massages etc,i think it took her five months!
Keep us posted on how you get on!
Im going to use the body brushing and oils for a few more months and if i notice no more change i think ill go back to using jean wu!
Best of luck!!

xxxx

I have two questions
1. who is jean wu? everyone seems to be talking about her??
2. I have been using vitamin E on my breast since thats where ihave the most stretch marks!! Ahh over a period of time, i have been gettin some kind of rash on my chest... and it doesnt look too nice. Does this happen to anyone else? Do you think that i am applying too much of it? I heard that it's ok to apply vitamin E ... 3 times a day??
ANd I started doing the dry brushing too. This is my second day and my skin does feel a lot smoother. I dont know if it will work for me because my marks are very old. I had them since i was about 10 years old!!! and now im 20.. I hate them soo much!!!! I find myself to be a very pretty girl but these ugly marks make me sooo self concious about everything... so i feel sooo nasty and ugly when i see them. Please help me and let me know of anything else that has worked for yoU!!

I've got one of these cloths! It's ok, be careful not to rub too hard or your skin will be red raw! It gets rid of dry skin, bit like exfoliating, but not sure how it would work on stretch marks. It seems really soft when u get it, but don't be foooled, rubbing too hard will hurt! I got one for my cousin and he uses it all the time and has good skin, no more spots. It does make your skin very smooth and shiny, but as I said, I can't comment on stretch marks, sorry!

Browneyes wrote:I was wondering what happened to the old thread! I think it eventually got erased b/c of the huge amount of posts it was receiving.

Lately, I've been putting baby oil, Camelia oil and any kind of moisturizer on my stretch marks. It just makes me feel better although I don't think it will help. And for a while I was putting Epidermx on them but found it to be useless. Its works better on the face--and a much stronger microdermbrasion would be needed to work on stretch marks.

I did some research and there was an article that said that TCA (a strong microdermbrasion) is found to be highly effective on stretch marks, as well as the latest on a laser treatment called Blue Dye Laser (i forgot the correct name) I was excited to read this until it said that it should not be tried on African American skin due to hyperpigmentation. To be honest I really don't care. Anything is better than having these stretch marks--and if I was to have hyperpigmentation its not like I show my arms anyway! When I get my loan money I might try laser treatment. I am honestly getting sick of having these stretch marks ruin my life. I don't understand why I have to have them on my arms. I look at ppl around me and don't seem to notice anyone to have them on their shoulders or arms--its so freakin odd.

And it is completely ruining my sex life. It really bothers me when my boyfriend wants to see me in lingerie (he doesn't know about the stretch marks on my arms) I just roll my eyes b/c I'd rather die than let him see how ugly and unattrative they are. To be honest if I were to ever get married it would really be a serious problem. I know I won't ever want to get naked in front of my husband--or want to do romantic things like take a bath or shower with him or get topless so he can give me a back massage.

I talk to my mother about it and she is very unsympathetic. She'll say ,"there are people with no arms and no legs. and you're complaining about stretch marks. all women have them." Yes, I understand that but that doesn't make it any less of a problem for me. There are times where I want to just yell at her and tell her i hate her. I wish she would understand how stretch marks can really affect your social life, sex life and every other aspect. Its more than just being superficial. She doesn't know that I'm suffering. Because she didn't have them like I did when she was my age. She probably could get naked in front of her lover and not worry about nasty scars all over her body. I guess things like that never cross her mind.

Begining to understand
I have a girlfriend that has stretch marks on her legs and butt. She is so miserable now that summer is here. She will NOT go to the beach or the pool. We have been dating for 4 years and are now engaged. I am just starting to fully understand the severity of these marks. What can I do to make her feel better about herself. She has never felt comfortable naked around me. She always changes in the dark and will not allow me to see her naked unless the lights are off. As I am sure this is a lot more frustrating for you guys, it is very frustrating to see her so hurt by this. Has anyone ever gone and talk to a doctor about getting help with the abbility to live with them. Or to go out in a bathing suit with them? She has built up such an enormus wall the last 10 years of her life that now it is like the worst thing in the world. As I read throught these forums I realize that there really is not anything that is going to 100% get rid og them. And since she will not go out in a bathing suit as long as they are visable, then none of these solutions are going to work. Does anyone that has built up a huge wall of insecurity belive that it might be able to broken down if she talks to a counsler or something that can make her feel more confident??? Please forgive me if I have affended anyone, I am trying to understand and cope with this.. Thanks for you help.
