ok hey.. soo heres my story. i have naturally medium brown hair. i had dyed it in the salon to blonde and so on when i had the bright idea of dying it red. it actually looked good and i liked it alot and kept it that way for about 4 months then when roots came back i decided to dye it back to blonde once again. i went to the salon and they lifted it wonderfully and i had beautiful foiled hair that turned out carmel and blonde. i loved it but after 2 months i decided i wanted it just a tad lighter sooo (this was just a few days ago) i bought some blonde dye and dyed it... it turned strawberry blonde and i hated it.... 2 days later i bought bleach/ blonde dyed it again and it turned out CHICK yellow.... it was terrible.... i panicked majorly and bought some dark brown hair dye.... this was just yesterday and it turned my hair black............ it doesnt look bad but i dotn want it black. i would like it just a dark brownish color but i CANNOT and WILL not dye my hair because ive dyed it 3 times in one week and im scared if i add anymore chemicals my hair will be shot and fall out. it seems to be find at the moment but nooooooo more dying.. is there any other possible way i can lift it naturally without adding anymore damage to my hair??? PLEASE HELP! im having a hair emergency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im actually going to cali tomorrow too soo if theres any products that correspond with the sun im gunna be there for about a good 5 days and i would very much like to know. i know i should of never dyed my hair in the first place it was beutiful now ive done something stupid but hopefully one of you wonderful people will be able to help me :/ tips are much much much much much needed at the moment. i guess i can call this a learning experience help me lift the color just a tad PLEASE! thanks much love to all of you for being soo gracious

orange hair

Well, I just did the stipping of the hair thing at the salon, and they gave me orange hair.... They didn't use a good toner. So the next day I went to walmart and bought L'Oreal Superior Preference 8A Ash Blonde and it took the orange right out and now I look like a blond!!! Love It!!!![/b]

to get bleached white hair

:D first strip the darkest areas on your hair besides your roots with a color stripper.roots will be white so do the dyed parts until they are even first, then do roots.after apply a lightest blonde dye.dont use ash blonde because it will go green.

Well you will have to remove or strip the colour to go a lighter shade. You cannot remove colour with additional colour, it will make it darker. I reccommend you go to a salon, even though it is expensive, if you want it done correctly. Otherwise you will spend $200 to fix it!!! Otherwise you can buy a bleach kit (which i don't really approve of!) and bleach your hair to an orangy base, then choose the medium brown colour you want, but make sure the colour you chose to go over that orangy base has ASH in it, as this will cut the yellow/orange colour!

To people who have dyed their hair dark brown and it turned out black , just be patient because after a week or two it will loose that black tone and fade to dark brown, at least this is my experience.....but it may be because i live in a hot climate so maybe the sun bleaches it.

Hey Just in need of some advice here :!: ...I have natrually dark brown hair and about November time last year dyed it 'light golden brown' which did not appear to have much effect on my hair so I just got fed up and dyed it a really dark brown with blonde chunks which was all good. However, now this dark brown has faded the light brown I had previously dyed it in November has finally come through which has produced an overall nice, golden colour BUT my dark roots are coming through now as the colour was put in like 4months ago. SO more to the point...I am liking the light colour and wish to pursue it and maybe even go a shade lighter.
Will the following procedure be successful. . . :?:
Use a high-lighting cap and kit to put in really subtle, thin blonde high lights just through my top layers of hair THEN use the same 'light golden brown' dye ALLOVER my hair (even over the blonde high-lights)
Am I correct in predicting this to make my hair generally lighter with subtle hints of blonde through it ?If so I will do so next week before I go on holiday...Is this wise?
Thanks to anyone with the time to read my lifestory and help me with some of their advice lol x

Always, ALWAYS, have an extra box of brown around if you are toying with making your hair blonde...
what works for one person is NEVER garunteed to work for another...

TRUST me.

that, and going blonde will ALWAYS cause some damage, but I have found that going dark again usually fixes the worst of it... 8)

come on guys, face it... brunetts are better... :)

advice...

try using bleach and 12% peroxide to lighten up your hair.
the longer you leave it on... the lighter your hair will go.

My natural hair colour is BLACK but iv managed to dye mine a very light shade of blonde, it actually looks much better than my natural colour, it took alot of bleaching but cos i condition it everyday my hairs still shiny and not very brittle. The only problem i have is roots, i have to dye the roots every month, but i use a blonde hair dye which surprisingly works on my black hair :S So it is possible to go blonde from dark hair but it does take a while to get it to the shade you want :D
