coming out...

Postby somefun on Wed Feb 21, 2007 11:18 pm

no, sorry ladies - somefun is still a one guy gal!

I was just wondering though, if it is easier for a woman to 'come out', in an area with a large gay community?

Have the ladies from i.e. notts and manc, found that their position was better aided by the fact that they had a community of similar minded people, available to them.

Or have I missed the point and is 'coming out' a difficult time, where ever you are geographically?
did your hand just brush against me, accidently...?

I would have thought it would be easier in an area with a large gay community as there would probably be more support and perhaps less pejudice. I know here in Arbroath there arent really a lot of gay people about and no gay bar to meet other homosexuals so people tend to be slightly homophobic, if only subconsciously (is that how you spell that?!)

I imagine in cities there would be a greater chance of being accepted but maybe Im wrong.

Im blethering, take no notice if what I say offends you, just giving my POV

Dependable, I suppose theres a slight edge in Nottingham because of the large gay community, but you still get your fair share of trouble.

Prejudices are found anywhere and everywhere, Nottingham may have a large gay sectre but on the other hand, the larger population within a city means theres more people likely to be against homosexuality.

Though, if I get a sly remark I can avoid the comment because they're quite rare, If someone lived within a small village, then presumably, an individual might find it hard to express themselves if ther'ye going to get a huge back-lash.

8 out of 10 for spelling (there is an r in prejudice) and punctuation. Jokining aside I think what you say is correct. I've never "come out" as I'm bisexual and feel no need to make any public statement.

You make some nice comments. Tell me, is that a pic of you?

To be honest, havent even left the starting mark, Im in my last year of high school and havent really had any relationships ever so far. My town isnt exactly full of eligible young guys looking for a girl like me (quite shy and anxious) but Im moving to Aberdeen to university in September so Im hoping to make a fresh start really.

I realised I was bicurious when I became really engrossed in some of the stories on here. I dont see myself as bi really because I dont know, when push comes to shove, if my enjoyment of the stories etc is purely to do with me being attracted to women or whether I find them enjoyable because I want to be as sexy as the people in the stories.

Im blethering now, I know what I mean lol

Yes, Arbroath isn't the centre of the world. Make nice smoked fish though.

Glad you get something out of this forum. My advice is just to be yourself and don't get pressured into doing anything you are not sure about. If you find yourself attracted to a male or female, go fot it. Otherwise enjoy the chat.

Yeah, its great on here, not being judged or being forced to label myself. I hate that, being told that I have to be either straight, gay, bi etc. I didnt know that bi-curious existed until a few weeks ago but I reckon it suits me best :)

How do you know arbroath eh?

Quite right. I hate the term "bi" and prefer simply to think of myself as sexual. I like sex with men and women. But what's in a name. I think there is a lot of pressure from the gay/les lobby to try and say x% of the population are gay even if all they have ever done is W*** a mate off once. I just don't see the point in playing the numbers game.

Been up the east coast on holiday a few times. Smokies are OK but I prefer Manx kippers.

Ha, I generally dont do fish lol. Although the fish from the chipper is better up here since they take out the skin and bones before battering, so its pure fillets with nothing making you boke.

Kipper fillets. Much easier. There are fewer bones but sometimes they get stuck in your teeth. A bit like getting pubic hair suck in your teeth but less embarrasing when someone points it out!

I'm easily encouragable too! :?

I'm glad I managed to get the thread back on course before we went too far down the fish/food route. I do like food but sex is better.

Anyway, I have actually experienced the embarassment of having public hair stuck in my teeth. Perhaps I should start a new topic and see how many others have had the same experience?
