I found it quite expensive to find a good product for my teeth that actually worked. I had heard that Beverly Hills Formula was very good but I found it quite expensive.A shop named home bargins sells this tooth paste for only 99p which is a 3rd cheaper than any chemist or supermarket. So if you have this shop in your local town i reccomened you stock up on tooth paste!

I used a dentist fitted tray and used my dentist's professional colgate whitening system a few years ago. I had to wear this fitted tray to bed every night for 8 hours for 2 straight weeks. The results were great! And lasted ages too. This cost me $300 in Australia.

I have heard that (bought at the chemist) Crest Premium Plus whitening strips (you can get them in the States, not sure in the UK? Cost $40 US) work wonders and you can see a visible difference in 3 days-maximum effect in 14 days--you have to wear the strips for 30 mins twice a day I think. I have used the chemist at home whiteneing strips (just the normal Crest ones--not the "Premuim" or "Premium Plus" ones, and they worked OK-not as good as the dental kit or I suspect, the "Premium" versions of the same brand). By the way, both the dental tray version bleach kit and the strips can be painful as it makes your teeth ache and temporarily sensitive.

This website on teeth whitening procedures outlines a lot of the choices out there. I personally tried bleaching (okay, but pricey) and now am on the strips, which seem to be okay, but I need more time to tell).

I have used the Crest whitestrips and they worked great for me. My teeth aren't very stained though. I also have used the Plus White system and it works ok... a little slower than the Crest.

Perectly White Laser teeth whitening worked for me too!

I also tried the perfectly white system. Its a great at home laser bleaching process found at most dentist offices. Its a 7 day treatment but only took me 4 days. This system is not found in stores so I ordered on line. This was my first _ purchase and it was a successful one for me. Another great thing about this was that shipping was free. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
If you are interested the site is www.perfectlywhite.com
If you tried this product I would love to hear from you. :D

Teeth Whitening

Postby clover on Tue Jun 07, 2005 11:14 pm

I looked at going to my dentist for teeth whitening but, put off by the price, the chemist kits with heat form trays seem a bit risky anyway, i stumbled on a website , dental laboratory selling laboratory made trays and 22% carbamide peroxide whitener (apparently this has a much longer life than hydrogen peroxide), I have just received the tray impression kit (came in 4 days), its really easy to do, now I have to send them back to get the trays made. This system cost me £85, and when the trays are sent back I get 10mls of teeth whitening gel, thats enough for about 20 applications. I am really pleased with the service so far and its a good price. The site www.unavida.co.uk have a look.

I had my teeth whitened professionally 3 years ago and over time they started to go dull. I paid alot of money and my teeth were really sensetive!! The mouth trays I had to wear to bed were awful too! I wanted to whiten my teeth again but was a little afraid of the sensetivity. A new tooth whitening product came out in the UK called Back 2 White (website www.backtowhite.net) it is AWESOME!!! It is an easy paint on whitening gel containing 18%carbamide peroxide (the same ingredient dentists use in trays) I had no sensetivity and I notice a difference in a few days! I now just paint it on once or twice a week to keep them bright!! If you get alot of stain on your teeth, I heard it works great on that too!! Best part is the price £12.95 @ Super drug!

Hi I'm a smoker, red wine and coffe drinker and I regularly get asked if I bleach my teeth. The answer is no. I use beverley hills whitening formula toothpaste and chew the orbit professional whitening chewing gum.. Recently I have been trying a new sparkling toothgel by macleans and am getting even more complements. Hope this is helpful.

I'm interested in a brighter smile like all of the previous posts on this page. One glaring discrepancy in all of the comments is that no-one seems to know the damage that is caused to teeth by peroxide formulas. I'm all for a beautiful smile but at what cost to my natural teeth. PS I believe these products do not work on veneers or crowned teeth so perhaps that will answer some of the questions of those who were unsuccessful in their attempts to whiten their teeth.
