I think this classes as a "problem"...
I just got me a tower at a garage sale... It had XP on it, but I don't like XP, so I formated it out.. and tried the W2k CD from a garage sale, but it doesn't boot.. so I'm back to this GD W98se thht again, still...
I loaded the garage sale tower with 98se, but it seems the tower is full of 5-year old top end components, which need special drivers... oh s***! and oops!.. big oops...
Now the video is stuck at 250-colors, and I can't change the screen size...
Plus the thing has a hundred-meg zip in it, but there's 61kb's I can't delete from the zippy..? And Spybot S&D found lots, plus a key-counter, and deleted it all.. but all but the key-counter came back, whi ch Spybot found again after a reboot... What are those "alexa's" and those "exe's, and all that crap that Spybot finds in an XP OS..?
I messed with the XP system till I destroyed it... It's a good practice to get yourself a garage sale PC, with XP on it, to try things out, in learning what can't be done to an OS, in meticulously destroying a computer just fer the hell of it...
I installed my old hd from the Compaq desktop, into the new tower, which runs 80-gigs /1 gig ram... The new tower made a lot of changes in the old hd... and when I put the old hd back into the old tower it took four reboots to get things normalized... I think the shifts made the old hd in the old tower run better... Is there a system in which one can do this switcheroo the hd's thing, and get almost high-end quality in a junker PC..?
