Ok, I have the world's weirdest problem. I have a GREAT Mother-in-law, I really lucked out with her. My only problem is that she wants to pay for EVERYTHING. If we buy her dinner, if we give her a present, she freaks out. She on the other hand has bought us a new car, a new printer, a new computer, and got upset that we nixed the new sofa. I'm in my late 30s, have been very independent most of my life. My husband is an only child and is more used to this. I'm really uncomfortable with this disparity, and I'm not sure how to deal with this without causing hard feelings. In addition, I'm not a "things" kind of person, and since any children we have would be the only grandchildren on either side of the family (my brother's a Catholic priest), I have this horrible nightmare vision of our children being completely spoiled brats. I want to address this now before we have additional pressure of dealing with what the children get! Help!
