Dressing themself

Should a 7 yr old be able to dress himself, excluding hard to reach buttons or zippers?????

Its been so long since ive spent much time around a child of this age that im not certain of what to expect as far as development.

I vigorously support your extremely logical use of the word "themself" and thank you for using it. The more people use it, the sooner the dictionaries and grammar books will finally admit that it should become accepted as not only correct English but also stylistically a cut above all other options in sentences like your title and "Everyone talks to themself."

Well, do you have any advice to her? I don't know about seven year olds, but I don't ramble on about the word "themself."

guessing from what my 4yr old twins are capable of i'd say yes.

true enough he might get in a tangle if things are inside out or whatever, and like you say, some buttons and zips can be a bit awkward, but i think that for the most part at his age he should be pretty much capable of dressing himself.
