How many police errors do you hear that reach the news from foreign police services?

None


ON speaking to US cops and French police they cannot believe the reaction to the shooting.

Mistakes happen all the time abroad, and no one ever hears about them.

It's time to get tough and get real.
The shooting was a mistake, a sad mistake, someone lost their life unnecessarily.

however during these terrorist times, there will inevitably be casualties.

Sorry if that sounds harsh - but think about it. As a country the police make very few mistakes.


If that man had run from the police in any other country - he would have been shot within 10feet of running. He wouldnt have made it to the tube station.

The Police are being turned in to the New Gestapo.
They have been trained with the so-called drug war amongst other things.
A good percentage of Police Officers are Freemasons.
The top is corrupt.
The lower orders are tools of the establishment and WILL be unleashed on us the people at some point.

We all know the village bobby was the sensible approach.

Just wondering what people in britain think to the current police force

Are they doing a good job?

What could they do better?


Personally, i think that if their paperwork was cut. They could be out doing their jobs and policing.

I'm a Yank and love the Brits and their fine police force. They are very respectful and friendly. If anything, I worry about them not being as well armed as maybe they should be in this current day and age.

I've been traveled to many countries.
Personally. I think the british police is the best. Streets are very safe at night and when you go to any where you'll find a policeman even at small markets.
They are doing a very good job. and yes the are the best most trained men in the world!

I agree, I havnt been all over, but they are definatelly better than here. They dont seem corrupt which is obviously quiet important and yes concidering you can actually walk in the street after dark, and feel safe is quiet amazing

the Madeline McCann debacle in Portugal shows you how good the British police are. The Portugese have not got a clue!! The British police are the best at investigating crime, no question. Watching the Portugese shows you that Clueseua exists! My criticism of them is that they are much too soft and have been infected with politcal correctness and liberalism. I know a lot of people in the police and they all complain about the paperwork. That needs to go. The police should be routinely armed as this is now one of the most violent countries in the Western world - and I'd like to see the police get stuck in more and really whack a few of these thugs and drunken scumbags that polute our cities; that way you don't need to worry about arrests and paperwork. I like the way the Italian and Spanish deal with our football thugs - just baton them. Some of these graduate commanders like Blair and Barmy Braumston in wales need to be cleared out there's too much politcial correctness and liberalism in the "police service" - the British public would like a tougher police FORCE - that way respect wouold come back.

I've not had much to do with the police force, though there have been a few things Ive been annoyed about.

1) The fact that they pull people over for speeding yet speed themselves, cut in front of people at junctions and generally make a hash of their driving (happens in my town anyway).

2) Their "you are in no immediate danger so you did not have a crime committed against you" thing. About a year ago Mum was getting prank calls from a withheld number, and then they started on her mobile phone - a number she hadnt given to many people. Calls were being made in the middle of the night so we ended up disconnecting the phone. When she phoned up BT, mum was told she would have to phone the police to get a criminal reference number to get the number blocked, she phoned up and was told they only gave out those numbers to people in situations which were putting their lives at risk. Never mind that by having the phone switched off we were risking not being able to be reached by elderly relatives using us as emergency contacts

3) Hypocrisy - this is along the lines of number one but when I was young my father, a policeman, struck my mum across the face. She reported it, and also at another time reported that he had had us kids sitting on people's laps in the back of his car, but it was all swept under the rug, she was told he'd been "warned" about it. If the police force want us to follow the law they should damn well follow it themselves.
