Baking Soda

Postby Guest on Tue Jun 05, 2007 11:09 am

Everyone, it's true about baking soda (Bicarbonate of Soda)
My grandmother is 80 years old and has all of her teeth!!!

She used baking soda instead of toothpaste all her life, her teeth are very very white and not even one cavity... she is the only person out of all her friends to have teeth at 80 years old.

It's recomended to mix a paste of Baking soda with a little salt and then a dash of water, spread over your teeth and leave for 30 min to an hour, do this a few times a week and your teeth will be sparking white.

Don't go for the fruit acid ideas.. orange, lemon etc, you will erode your tooh enamel.

My teeth aren't really stained or brown but I reckoned they could be a bit whiter so I tried this cheapo kit from Morrisons called 'Brilliant'. It's one of those ones where you put gel stuff in the gum shield and then keep it in for about 10 mins. I reckon it worked and it was only about £3. Not sure how well it'd work on serious stains and brown smoke/coffee stained teeth though...worth a try maybe?

The easiest thing to do is to visit a dentist and get his recommendation.

Teeth Whitening

I guess this is another one of those 'vested' interest posts but I hope you'll let me off since there have been many others. My parents run a teeth whitening and cosmetic business. As well as using a system similar to ZOOM whitening, they also offer a home kit. Unlike the OTC 'boil and bite' systems this kit is completely custom made (using exactly the same materials) and offers 100% money back guarantee if you're not completely satisfied. Plus if you lose the trays or the dog eats them or you get further dental work done, the lab will remake them absolutely FREE of charge! I'm pro choice and you can choose anyone you like for teeth whitening but my parents would not allow me do something, if they had any reason or concern that it might be damaging my teeth. Their overheads are extremely low, enabling them to offer an extremely competitive price, yet you can be assured that you are recieving a service from experienced professionals. Take a look at www.smiledirectuk.com for more information :D

well you can always do some research and ask lots of questions to specialists and cosmetic dentists to see if teeth whitening is for you; here's a good article that explains the procedure and all the details, even has good before and after photos:
http://www.cosmetic-plastic-surgery.info/procedures/teeth-whitening

or you can even look into veneers, a definitely longer lasting solution to whitening your teeth. try this article, it talks all about dental porcelain veneers, gives the important facts:

good luck!

Teeth whitening kit that worked for me.

I tried one of the recommended teeth whitening kits found on this thread. It was http://www.perfectlywhite.com . They had free shipping which was a plus for me. It took me 6 days and my husband 5 days to achieve our desired whiteness. It truly is a great product. This has been a helpful thread, keep up the good work!

Cheapest quickest way to get whiter teeth is to use a good dental rinse, like "Plax", and the toothpaste "EMail"...

Brush for a minimum of one minute with the tooth rinse, then brush well with just a tiny bit of the toothpaste... Then do a super rinse of your mouth, understand that brushing loosens all that vile strep-bacteria into your mouth... It's crucial that you rinse it all out with lots of water... Then a sip of a mouthwash to kill any bacteria remaining...

Did you know that failing to maintain clean teeth is hard on your heart..?
Those bacterias can enter the blood through your gums.. and they are rough on your heart...
