hi.. i am in my 23rd week.. & i have heard mixed views about sleeping positions!!
could someone please let me know if sleeping on the back has any side effects on the baby??
I've heard that sleeping on your back during pregnancy isn't so good as the weight of the uterus can press down on the blood vessels that are supplying the placenta with blood. It's better to lie on your left side with a pillow or blanket supporting your stomach.
If you lie flat the weight of your bump presses on your main vessels and can cut off blood supply making you feel faint,or even pass out. It's best to lie slightly propped up if you're on your back. It doesn't really matter if you lie on your back or side, lie however you feel comfiest. The pillow between your legs and/or supporting your bump is a good idea though.
i have tried sleeping on my side.. but my sides start to hurt.. n i end up losing sleep!!!
i feel so uncomfy at night.. & i am not big yet. just beginning to show..
so i am so worried that whats goin to happen at later stages!!!
i'm 22 weeks and have just started to sleep on my back. i normally sleep on my front but i can't so that now lol, i can sleep on my side, but i've found that tricky the last week or so. lots of pillows is how a i managed to get any sleep in my other pregnancies.
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning!!!
the 'i' key on my keyboard doesn't work very well!
u think its bad now u wait lol i was very uncomfortable & i wasnt preg through the summer !!
ur lucky ur only just starting to show
majority of the time i used to sleep sitting up, but i suffered really bad heartburn, wen i slept on my side i always woke half way through the nite as it had gone dead !
u know.. i have the same issue.. my body gets numb & i end up losing sleep!!
also.. i am so concerned now because it wud be peak summer & i wud be so big then!!! (am due sept mid)
heartburn.. it makes me feel yukcy about myself!!!
when we had those hot days in april ... it killed me lol, findin sumthing lose to wear, waddling around with big swollen feet, plus been so big cuz i was huge ... and sleeping was the worse its uncomfortable anyway without sweating ur boobies off !
i had, had enough i was easily irritated u may cope better ..
hey madtune.. no we dont know if its a boy or girl we din't want to find out.. as its our first baby!!! .. n sorry for not responding earlier!!!
it was so hot here yday & i was sweatinng.. just right after a shower.. am wondering what my state wud be in a few weeks.. when i am really big!!!
i am still having trouble trying to find a suitable position to sleep in.. n tried pillows.. n evrything possible!!!!

you shouldnt sleep on your back, on your side is best, but by the third trimester you cant even sleep in one position for more than 10 minutes
I'm 26 weeks and can still sleep on my stomach but slightly to the side with my leg raised a bit so I'm not flat on my belly. This is the only way I find comfortable to sleep. I get terrible pain in my hips if I lay on my side for too long and I get dizzy on my back.
