Times sure have changed... I got stopped after midnight, with a quart of rye mixed half with cola.. siting on the car seat, for sipping purposes... And I had sipped a lot... I wasn't totally pissed.. but very close...
The two cops were 90% Gentlemen... They quizzed me proper... and had me pour my bottle down a storm drain street sewer.. laughing.. and them chuckling too...
They instructed me on the dangers of drunk driving.. they really got through to me... They had me swear that I would never drunk drive again... I swore it sincerely... they really got through to me...
They patted my shoulder solid.. waved, turned away, got in their car, and let me go, smiling and waving... I never drove drunk again... It was that easy...
