I'm lost right now. I really don't know what to think or how to feel.
Here is the situation. My gf and I have been together for 7 years. But last night she told me that she was bi-curious. It was so hard for her to say it. She hasn't told anyone. She is interested in maybe kissing another woman. You would think that I would be excited about that but I wasn't. I didn't freak out or anything, I just didn't know how to take this. She says that she is just interested and that she doesn't want a relationship. Just she is attracted to women. She says that she loves me and wants to be with me and that will never change.
But here is the problem for me. I believe that if you're in a committed relationship, you be with that person and no one else...physically or emotionally. She doesn't think that kissing another woman is considered cheating. I don't want her to just ignore this feeling and bottle it up. I could never ask her to be anything other than herself. But I'm scared.
If she does kiss a woman while out at a club or something then comes home and tells me what happened...i know in my heart that I will be hurt. I know she isn't trying to hurt me. But doesn't it mean that I wasn't enough? That I don't satisfy her? The thought of her being with anyone else regardless of gender hurts. Then what? What if she likes it. What then? Where will that lead? What if she wants more than just to kiss? What if the next step is sex? Then what? How am I supposed to deal with that? Isn't this considered cheating?
I just want everyone to know that I didn't flip out or anything. I listened and tried to understand. I was calm and asked questions. But something inside of me was so scared of this view on it. I mean....how am I supposed to feel about it? Should I be ok with it? She is a very honest person. She was always one to tell the truth no matter how much it hurts. She is not sure whats going to happen...she just says that she doesn't want to loose me. I also love her very much and I want to be with her. We have come such a long way together and I don't want to loose her.
