Failing My Driving Test just 1/2 an hour ago

right girls i hope it's ok but im going to give you some advice.coming up to the actuall test,there is nothing else going on in your head except the worry of the big day,your brain wont allow you to think straight,you wake up and the test pops into your head,but this is ok everyone is the same,trust me.anyone who say's different is bullshxxxxxg.so on the morning of your test get up do your things you do,but have a shower to really wake you up,your body and mind needs a kick up the backside.at this point you will be clock watching,pacing up and down,waiting for you instructor to pick you up for your final lesson.you will have knots in your stomache,pannicking,possibly feeling sick and stressed out to the point of dizzyness,but again it's the same for everyone,everyone feels the same,there is nothing you can do to stop this,but keep thinking i must concentrate for the 30-35 mins test,think about speed limits,blind spots,mirrors all the stupid things most failures happen.
so your instructor picks you up and off you go,you do a bit of driving but your nervous,the test is now 40 mins away and your struggling to concentrate,you think your lesson is not great but the key to this is this is not the test and that is the priority of the day.now im not going to say the test is easy but it's no different to what you have already learned,and think of a person who is a real shxt driver and think to yourself,well if they can do it i can,it's all about 30-to 35 mins of concentration and concentrate like you have never concentrated before,focus dont speak to the examiner thinking a nice little chat and he will go easy,because this will effect your concentration,dont relax like other people say,because deep down there not relaxed,nobody relaxes on there driving test,dont forget the mirrors this is a major issue,just move your head slightly,look in the rear view and wing mirrors ,and do it every ten seconds too much is better than too little.on the manouvers dont forget to look behind you and blind spots, and dont rush your manouvers as there not worried about time on these exercises.if you get stuck behind a vehicle on a dual carridgeway and you are not maintaining the speed limit you must overtake as they will fail you otherwise,you need to show the examiner you are confident to drive on the road and if he feels comfertable with your driving he will overlook silly mistakes.it's only 30 mins of hard concentration and observation and then it will be,im am pleased to tell you,you have passed and then it's for life.
just look confident like i said they just want a comftable drive...[/i]

well i failed my 1st driveing test he done me for a round about and mirrows i most move my head i have my test in 1 week and a half hope i do it this time because am going insane i have a corsa sri sitting outside just cont use it till i pass i this this ite help a lot of ppl but i have bad nervs i was sick that moring and my belly was in pain dont no what was worg with me

I was ready.

If you don't pass there will be a reason. I had 7 minor faults.

Still nervous so I am doing Pass-Plus.

Keep practicing. Keep learning, you will get there eventually.

WEll im sorry to hear that you failed but i failed today to! I mean the guy was such a jerk. I know it was my first time, but i was real upset i mean i failed at the parrallel parking. He told me i was not close enought to the curb! i soo was!! i think 12 inches in my book anyways after he told me i was not close enought he said, you 3 mins are up get out of the car! i mean i just lost it and cryed for like an hour! i have another appointment on the 20th im soo nervous about it! i just want this to be over just to get it and it be over! i really hope i get another guy

any tips on passing the second time?????

OK, Jess? I'm going to try to be gentle here. You obviously feel angry and upset about the results of your first test. But, sweetheart, you don't sound ready to take driving tests. Part of learning to drive is remaining calm and developing mature self-evaluation. I know it's hard to take criticism and to accept the judgement of the examiner, but the only way you are going to pass is to raise your self awareness and not to take things so personally. I'm sure you're a good driver, hun, but some of that hot-headedness might be demonstrating itself during the test.

I failed my first test today and it sucks i made a right turn on red when i wasnt supposed to but the lady tricked me she said go ahead and take a right here and i beleived her and she sayd after i make the turn-you just ran a red light.i was SSSOOOOOOOOO mad i wanted to slap her in the face and kick her out of the car.im going back tomorrow to try and take my second one and i have to pay 20 more bucks and i'm going to a different DMV so hopefully i dont get an asshole like her this time im so mad because i wasnt even sweating it i had stuff planned for today but it ruined everything and i cried when i was walking out and everyone saw me balling i hate that lady im going to call in a bombthreat tommorrow.

I don't know how old you are, but you're illustrating something I feel might be fairly important, the expression of which I hardly expect to receive widespread youthful applause for, namely that the minimum age for driving needs to be raised. This isn't just aimed at you Honey, but pretty much all teenaged learner drivers. I'm getting a tad worried about the lack of maturity of some of the young drivers out there. The road user fatality statistics amongst the under 24s in the UK are growing.

Okay guys, here is my story.

As soon as I turned 17, I applied for my provisional and started lessons. But stopped taking lessons and just totally forgot about driving.

By the time I was 23, I decided I wanted to give it a go again. So I took my theory test and figured that as I had my theory test, I'd be more determined to learn to drive.

Anyway, I began some lessons.. but gave up again because I didn't like my instructor - his car was not very clean and didn't smell nice. Obviously, I wasn't that determined - LOL

I had ANOTHER instructor... but didn't like him neither so stopped again.

Anyway, nearly a year after I had taken my theory, I decided to stop being silly and get my act togther. So I went back to my original driving school... the one I was with when I was 17. And started taking lessons again... I had finally found an instructor that I got on with and that took care of his car and was a good instructor. But money got short, so I had to stop again.

About 10 months later (April), I decided that I wasn't going to learn with an instructor. I know what I am like, I become slack and don't try as hard a I should. So, I bought a little runaround... and I know this is naughty, but I just started driving it.
After a month or so of driving, I called up my instructor and we started lessons again. He let me know of any bad habits I had picked up etc.

My theory was running out in October, I only had a few months left. So I booked my test for August. However, it was getting to August and I didn't feel ready, so I postponed until October... 8 days before my theory ran out.

I was more than ready for my test this time and did feel confident that I'd pass. I did put a lot of pressure on myself, because I knew that if I failed, it meant that I had to do the theory again.
Anyway, I got to the test and FAILED. I was driving too close to parked cars, the examiner had to turn the steering wheel. The funniest thing is, my instructor was very shocked when I told him, because I NEVER drive too close to parked cars... he often tells me I drive to wide. My friends also say the same thing... so I know that I over compensated - NERVES.

Anyway, I done the theory test again about 1 1/2 weeks later and after I done the theory test, I managed to find a test for that friday (yesterday). I coudn't believe my luck... only 15 days after my first test. I thought it was a good sign.

Anyway, I failed the test AGAIN.
Once again, for something soooooo stupid. I felt that was driving very well... but there was a point where I became unsure of which lane to use, as I wasn't sure whether or not the road turned off.... and the examiner had to AGAIN move the steering wheel. As soon as this happened, I lost all my nerves and drove excellently... I calmed right down. I guess the pressure was taken off me because I knew that I had failed.

My instructor and I were just confused, we were trying to come up with solutions as to why I keep failing and possible remedies. He says that I don't need anymore lessons, because there is nothing more I need to learn. He said that I need to stop stressing myself out so much.

When I got home, I cried real badly. I was so upset.

I feel like I keep on letting my instructor down... especially when he really believes I will pass.

I really don't know what to do anymore, because I feel that I am going to keep on failing. If I was failing on a technique, then it wouldn't bother me so much, because I can try to rectify that problem. But I keep failing on stupid things, because I am letting my nerves take over. On my second test day, I was sooooooo nervous. I felt like throwing up, my legs turned to jelly, mouth mouth was dry, I was shaking.

Why do I get myself worked up so much and how can I combat this?

I failed my first test because i hit the kerb on reverse around the corner, then i had to wait 7 weeks for another one which annoyed the hell out of me.

Then I had my 2nd test today and wasn't really very nervous just the normal amount, and i failed it again!!

I only got 4 minors but apparantly i was too far away from the kerb on my parallel park.

i'm so scared of hitting the kerb i keep going too far away but i wasn't hugely out i was so annoyed because cars could still get past me.

Now i have to wait another 7weeks for another test!! It's so stupid I'm ringing up for cancellations but after 3minutes of an automated voice they say "sorry we can't connect you" b*stards!!!

I failed my fourth driving test today in the alst 10 minutes. Am so gutted. The hour lesson before with my driving instructor was perfect. In my test the manouvres were perfect and so were the mirrors. Then I'm on this dual carriageway, have to change speed from 50 to 40mph, so I do and there's this truck in front of me driving at 20mph, so I was a little close and was slowing down, but the examiner said to slow down. So that was a fail. For the last 10 minutes I then made loads of mistakes as I didn't care anymore as I had already failed. I'm just sick of taking tests! My next one isn't until 5th Feb, such a joke. I'm also getting broke paying for all these lessons, BSM charge £47 for 2 hours. I'm only going to book two before the test. Honestly I can't believe I failed. I also told everyone, and now look stupid. I won't tell anyone now until I pass.

I failed today straight off he asked for a reverse park and I missed judged nervously and failed the examiner then proceeded to spend the entire test criticising my driving though I came away with only 5 minors he is two weeks away from retirement and generally not a pleasant chap with a reputation for antagonising learners.
Now I can cope with all this but I read Hugh??? remarks on some of these posts and I was astonished how someone can be soooo insensitive and blatantly condescending when someone has failed their test after we all know what a pressurised stressful and horendous experience it is or can be. Give us a rest chum your comments are not welcome ph and make sure you relaaaxx.

just failed today on insufficeint observation at a junction, i cudnt have looked any more than i did and its not like i crashed or anything!
so now im bloody annoyed and have lost all confidence ! £100 to be told your a failure isnt nice!

I just failed my 3rd driving test today too, its so dissapointing, got two serious for silly things, apparently when i was on the inside lane on the dual carriageway i speeded up slightly when someone was overtaking, meaning they had to speed up more to overtake ( i thought people generally went faster when overtaking anyway!!!??) and considering i was only going 55 mph they only had to go 60mph! the other serious was something daft, apart from that he said everything was good ( rub it in!!) he still made me do a bay park when we returned to the test centre even though he knew id failed, sorry to rant on its just so dissapointing when youve spent so much time and money on something!! 4th time lucky i hope, good luck to anyone else with their test coming up

I live in Hastings, had my 2nd driving test on thursday and failed.
Examiner was the one who my instructor warned me about Clive.
I failed on roundabouts someone didn't indicate and reverse round corner really gutted, going to have an assessment with another ADI and then on to test 3.

Hi, im due to take my test soon and im very nervouse about it, im so gald i found this forum as im driving my family crazy as i seem to have a one track mind and they are sick of hearing about it. my instructor says im more than ready but when we do a mock test the conversation drys up as we are both concentrating on what im doing and that makes me very uncomfortable, as on a regular lesson we chat constantly. i also will be worse than most as i was abused as a child and find it very uncomfortable to be in an enclosed space with a man, i asked if i could request a female examiner but they said no, its the luck of the draw. i find this very unfair as if you have other problems like dyslexia you can have allowences made.

I took my second driving test on friday 21st December 07, and im pleased to say i passed.
i failed my first one on a parrallel park, and i got 9 minors.
this time i passed and and only got 2 minors, im well chuffed!
a word of advice though to all those thinking they should give up..DONT! i promice you, u will do it, surely if u fail 8 times, the 9th time u could pass, and surely thats betta than not driving at all. when u leave the house for your lesson b4 the test, think to your self, "i will do this today, i have a right to do this just like everyone else," and if neone wishes u luck say "i dont need it, im gonna pass!"
B4 my test i listened to a song that really encouraged me to do something that makes me proud, (HEATHER SMALL, PROUD) its is the best song to hear before hand, and i bet you any money u will do it

GO OUT THERE - KEEP STRONG- SHOW THAT EXAMINER YOU CAN DO IT-
DONT DO IT FOR NEONE ELSE BUT YOUR SELF!
