How long to wait...

Hi, I came off the pill (dianette) approx 7 weeks ago. Ive had one period (the one directly after finishing the pill) but am still waiting for my first true period. Ive got all the symptoms that everyone else says they have - the stomach pains, the sore nipples etc. My real question is, are you supposed to wait until you have had your first true bleed before even trying for a baby? One website I looked at even suggested that you should wait at least 3 months after coming off the pill before trying to conceive. I really want to start trying but am scared to do so if it might pose my baby some harm - thats if I were lucky enough to get pregnant after all. Advice please. XXX

Hi cocopop - I really don't think it does any harm to start trying straight away, I think they just say wait a few months so that your cycle can get itself back to normal, which makes it much easier to date the pregnancy and calculate your due date when you do fall pregnant.

I started trying as soon as I threw my pills in the bin!
