I went shopping with my mum when I was young and a teenager, when she was buying clothes. So what? If anything, it made me used to the shopping habits of females - useful for my wife no? This is absurd and ridiculous. Should dad's not take little girls around when they pop into a shop for a T-shirt or a pair of jeans?

I have a first cousin who is gay. Using the above guidelines, am I correct in assuming that, if I was male, I should never have been allowed to meet him? And, if you think (once again, assuming that I was male, which thankfully I am not) that I should not have been allowed to meet him, do you think that there is anything wrong with preventing someone from meeting one of their blood relations or, worse still, even denying that the person even existed?

Rather than being a set of guidelines on how to raise your son as a man, these sound more like instructions on how to raise your son as a homophobic misogynist. Depends on what your definition of "man" is though, I suppose....

In my family's case, the suggestion is also absurd. My 16 year old son is gay, so therefore, it suggests he can't live at home with his brothers or have anything to with them.

That makes sense doesn't it.
