I asked for a tone that is not brassy, goldy or orangey. I asked for as natural looking as possible, something neutral or cool. My natural hair color is medium brown & has only been lowlighted dark ash brown in a few spots at least 9 months ago (which I told her). I mentioned that my hair seems to have a lot of red/gold pigment in it that I wanted to get rid of. I said I would eventually like to get more blonde & lighter blonde highlights for summmer. Well, I came out with a few auburn highlights. I went back & asked her to fix it. This time I came out with lighter auburn, orange, and gold hair on top and green-blonde highlights underneath. I wanted to cry. I decided to get it fixed somewhere else . With the new stylist I asked for the same thing & explained what had happened a week earlier. I walked out with dark reddish brown lowlights, yellow-orange highlights & the rest of my hair light auburn. She said my hair was pulling a lot of gold. My hair didn't even resemble the colors I picked. I have another appointment with this stylist and I don't even know what to tell her. Why can't I just get a nice shade of blonde? I feel like I'm asking for the impossible. all I want is blonde highlights that aren't orange or bright brassy gold! I've already spent a ridiculous amount of money and don't know what to do. Am I being unclear in my request? Are there any professional stylists out there that can help me with this? Is there any way to get the orange & gold tones out of hair? Next appt. in two days... please! any help would be appreciated!!! Thank you.
