Hi, I thought I'd post my experience on here. I read this forum a few months ago, and it made me feel a bit better, so I hope I can make someone else feel better! I was on the pill for around 2.5 years (I'm 23 now), and I went off of it at the end of September 2007. I had a really light period around 4.5 - 5 weeks after going off, although looking back I'm not sure if that was a light period or some sort of withdrawal bleeding. After that, I didn't get a period for 7 months. I felt like my period was going to start a few times, but it never did. I even got spotting twice around the 5 and 6 month mark which got my hopes up, but it never came. Finally, I went to my doctor in Mid May, and got some bloodwork done. She didnt seem too worried about my not getting a period in so long, and said it was within the "normal" range. She called me a few days later and said everything came back normal, and she would give me a perscription for progesterone to try to "kick start" my period again. I was away from home, so I couldnt get the perscription right away (I was planning on starting it at the beginning of june), but a few days after I got that call from my doctor with the results, my period started (this was around May 24)! I dont know if it was just a big coincidence, but I think the stress I was causing myself over worrying about not getting my period was actually causing me to not get it. I was convinced something was wrong with me, and maybe after getting the results that everything was fine, I relaxed a bit which allowed my period to start. So I guess if you're worried something might be wrong, just go to the doctor and get checked out, and if everything is ok, hopefully your stress level will go down which will allow you to get your period!
